Abstract

Existing sink units have the draining board impressed with a patterned surface. The draining board adjoins the surface on the edge of the sink which is not provided with an impressed pattern. This causes drops of water to collect at the joint, which impair the appearance and also, the sink unit is more difficult to keep clean. The invention overcomes this problem by pressing the sink and draining board from a single metal sheet. The required pattern which may be in the form of shallow grooves 0.1mm deep, is then pressed into the upper surface by coining.
