Description
Cable termination The invention relates to a cable termination and a method for its production. As is known, a rope termination is formed by splicing the end of the rope with the rope to form a loop. This process is known to be very time consuming.
The invention makes it possible to create a new type of rope termination in which the splicing of the rope ends is omitted.
The cable fastener according to the invention is characterized in that a cable end part and a further cable part are pressed onto one another by a jacket comprising these parts.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that a rope loop is introduced into a mold provided with ring-shaped cavities, then the cavities are filled with liquid plastic under pressure and the mold is removed after the plastic has hardened.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown: FIG. 1 shows a rope end closure and FIG. 2 shows in section a device for carrying out the manufacturing process.
The rope termination is formed by first placing the rope end 1 onto the rope 3, forming a loop 2. The connection of the rope end 1 to the rope 3 takes place in that the two rope parts 1 and 3 lying on top of one another are introduced into a mold in which several axially adjacent cavities 4 are arranged (FIG. 2), which are filled with liquid plastic, preferably thermoplastic plastic, be filled under high pressure ge, so that after pressing this plastic around the rope end 1 and the rope 3 there is a sheathing in the form of rings corresponding to the cavities.
Since the liquid plastic thus penetrates the rope under high pressure, there is an intimate connection of the rope parts together with the rings.
It is essential that the connection of the rope end to the rope is made by a plastic sheathing, the plastic penetrating in liquid form into the rope ends to be connected and creating a firm bond. The plastics used are preferably polyamide or polyethylene.
