Description

  

  Wälzlager.    Die Erfindung betrifft eine für alle  Arten von Wälzlagern (Kugellager, Rollen  lager und dergl.) sehr wertvolle Verbesse  rung, die darin besteht, dass die Laufflächen  (Widerlagerflächen) der Wälzkörper, wie  Kugeln, Rollen und dergl., mit einer Chrom  auflage (von beispielsweise 0,1 bis     0;3    mm  Stärke) versehen werden. Diese wird zweck  mässig auf     elektrolytischem    Wege festhaftend  aufgebracht.  



  Es ergeben sich dabei     für    die Wälzlager  überraschende Vorteile. Die Chromauflage  verleiht den Laufflächen und damit den  gesamten Lagern eine     vielfach    längere  Lebensdauer.     Entsprechend    kann für die  Laufringe ein weniger hochwertiger, das     ist     billigerer Stahl verwendet werden. Es ergibt  sich ein erstaunlich leichter Lauf der Lager.  Auch sind die Laufflächen nicht mehr dem  Rosten oder Anlaufen oder ähnlichen chemi  schen Einflüssen oder Temperatureinflüssen  ausgesetzt, und es können abgenutzte Lauf  ringe durch Verchromung wieder nutzbar    gemacht werden.     Insgesamt    ergibt sich also  eine sehr beträchtliche Leistungssteigerung  der Lager.  



  Die Chromauflage kann sich auf die von  den Kugeln, Rollen und dergl. Wälzkörpern  berührten     Teile    der Laufringe, also auf die  Widerlagerflächen beschränken, auf welchen  Teilen sie nach vorstehendem vor allem  wesentlich     ist.    Die Kugeln oder Rollen  selber erhalten zweckmässig keine Chrom  auflage. Eine solche wäre nämlich nach  teilig, da sich gezeigt hat, dass dann bei  mangelhafter Schmierung eine erhebliche  Abnutzung und ein Festfressen (schwerer  Lauf) des Lagers eintreten kann.

  There are surprising advantages for the rolling bearings. The chrome plating gives the running surfaces and thus the entire bearings a much longer service life. Correspondingly, a less high quality, that is cheaper steel can be used for the race rings. The bearings run surprisingly smoothly. The running surfaces are also no longer exposed to rusting or tarnishing or similar chemical influences or temperature influences, and worn running rings can be made usable again by chrome plating. Overall, there is a very considerable increase in the performance of the bearings.



  The chrome plating can be limited to the parts of the races that are in contact with the balls, rollers and the like. The balls or rollers themselves do not have a chrome finish. This would be disadvantageous, since it has been shown that in the event of inadequate lubrication, considerable wear and seizing (heavy running) of the bearing can occur.
