Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Farbstoffes der Triarylmethanreihe. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu wert vollen Triarylmethanfarbstoffen dadurch ge langt, dass man auf solche Farbstoffe dieser Reihe, die in p-Stellung zum Karbinolkohlen- stoffatom einen austauschbaren Substituen- ten, wie Halogen, die Alkogy-, Sulfo- oder Nitrogruppe enthalten,
o- oder p-Arylen- diamine bezw. ihre gernsubstitutionsprdukte oder ihre einseitig in der Aminogruppe acy- lierten Derivate einwirken lässt.
Die nach dem Verfahren erhältlichen Farbstoffe zeichnen sich ,gegenüber bekann ten vergleichbaren Farbstoffen, die unter Verwendung von Monoaminen oder m-Arylen- diaminen hergestellt sind, durch eine erhöhte Lichtechtheit aus, und ausserdem lassen sie sich im Gegensatz zu den bekannten Farb stoffen rein weiss ätzen.
Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Farbstoffes der Triarylmethanreihe. Es ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, .dass man den Farb stoff der folgenden Formel:

mit o-Phenylendiamin kondensiert und den Farbstoff bis zum Eintritt einer Sulfogruppe, deren Stellung nicht bekannt ist, sulfiert.

werden mit 400 Gewichtsteilen o-Phenylen- diamin auf 100 erwärmt, bis der Ausgangs farbstoff nicht mehr nachweisbar ist. Der nach Abtrennung des überschüssigen Diamins erhaltene Farbstoff wird mit Oleum sulfiert,
wobei eine Sulfogruppe in das Farbstoff molekül eintritt. Er färbt Wolle und Seide in sehr reinen Tönen rotviolett und gibt einen rein weissen Ätzef f ekt.

o- or p-arylenediamines respectively. their like substitution products or their derivatives acylated in the amino group on one side.
The dyes obtainable by the process are distinguished from known comparable dyes prepared using monoamines or m-arylenediamines by increased lightfastness and, in contrast to the known dyes, they can be etched in pure white .
The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a new dye of the triarylmethane series. It is characterized by the fact that one uses the dye of the following formula:

condensed with o-phenylenediamine and the dye until a sulfo group, the position of which is not known, sulfated.
<I> Example: </I> 300 parts by weight of the dye of the following formula

are heated to 100 with 400 parts by weight of o-phenylenediamine until the starting dye is no longer detectable. The dye obtained after separating off the excess diamine is sulfated with oleum,
whereby a sulfo group enters the dye molecule. It dyes wool and silk in very pure shades of red-violet and gives a pure white etch effect.
