Description
Verfahren zum Gerben tierischer Häute. Es -wurde gefunden, dass man tierische Haut in weisses Leder von hervorragenden Eigenschaften verwandeln kann, wenn man sie mit einer Kondensationsprodukte von Formaldehyd mit Dioxydiphenylsrrlfon ent haltenden Lösung behandelt. Die Kondensa tionsprodukte, die man analog den Pherrol- harzen mit sauren oder alkalischen Mitteln aus Dioxydiphenylsulfon und Formaldehyd herstellen kann, und die an sich in Wasser unlöslich sind, kann man sehr leicht in Lö sung bringen, indem man sie mit Wasser und aromatischen Sulfosäuren erhitzt. Am einfachsten verfährt man so, dass man die aromatische Sulfosäure z.
B. Naphthalinsulfo- säure gleich als Kondensationsmittel benützt; es ergibt sich dann folgende Arbeitsweise. Beispiel: 100 Teile Blösse in 200 Teilen Wasser werden mit 50 Teilen eines Gerbstoffes be- handelt, der in folgender Weise erhalten wurde 100 Teile Naphthalinsulfosäure 100 Teile Dioxydiphenylsulfon 50 Teile Wasser und 40 Teile Formaldehyd (30 %ig) werden 1'/1 Stunden zum Sieden erhitzt.
Das in Wasser klar lösliche Produkt wird mit Lauge neutralisiert, eingedampft und mit 10 % Kieselfluornatrium vermischt. Man er- hält ein sehr volles, sehr lichtbeständiges, weisses Leder.

The product, which is clearly soluble in water, is neutralized with lye, evaporated and mixed with 10% silica fluorosodium. A very full, very lightfast, white leather is obtained.
