Description

Support for camera. The present invention relates to a support for a photographic camera, in which a screw integral with a part within reach is intended to be screwed into the camera until one face thereof is applied to said scope. This support, which can also be called a portable pocket foot, is characterized in that said part within reach is also secured to a ball joint partially engaged in opposing cavities of two jaws that a spring keeps assembled. by pressing them against said ball joint and that a clamping device makes it possible to bring one to the other.

The mentioned spring is preferably constituted by a curved U-shaped blade, each of the branches of which has, towards its end, an internal projection. penetrating into a corresponding hollow in the. jaw.

The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.

The fi-. 1 is a front elevational view, FIG. 2 a side view, FIG. 3 a separate room, FIG. 4 a view from above, and FIG. 5 a section along V-V of FIG. 4; Figs. 6, 7 and 8 show the support mounted respectively on a tree branch, on a cane and on a body. faaes not parallel; Fig. 9 represents an accessory key.

The jaws 1 and 1 'have spherical cavities, visible in the section of FIG. 5, in which is engaged a ball joint 2 integral with a bearing part 3 and a screw 4. A spring 7, consisting of a flat blade, curved in the shape of a U, presses the two jaws against the kneecap. A clamping device, consisting of a bolt 5, passes through the two jaws and carries a chicken 6 which can take the form of the winged chicken 61 of FIG. 6. The bolt 5 has, at its bearing end, a head 8 whose shape is polygonal, this head engaging in a non-cylindrical hole in the jaw 1 ', which prevents the bolt from rotating. The ball has a hole 11 into which a key 12 fitted with a handle 13 can enter.

This support has the following uses and advantages. The fact that the jaws themselves are movable around the center of the patella instead of around an axis, allows them to be clamped on objects of very different shapes and in particular on objects which do not have two perfectly parallel faces, such as the corner 14 of FIG. 8. Thanks to the mode of assembly by the spring 7, the jaws remain assembled with the ball joint whatever the degree of tightening of the chicken 6 and even when the latter and the bolt 5 are removed.

It will be appreciated that when the chicken 6 is tightened, a clamping is exerted not only on the object to which the support is fixed, but also on the ball joint 2, the friction of which is thus increased on the jaws. This friction then becomes sufficient to maintain the loaded part 3 of the camera in any position. However, this friction may not be sufficient to react to the torque due to the tightening force of the device on screw 4.

In this case, use is made of the key constituted by the rod 12 and the first handle 13, which is introduced into the ball joint as shown in FIG. 7 and which prevents it from rotating around the axis of the screw 4.

It can be seen that the spring 7 is provided with ribs lying inside its two branches and that these projections penetrate into corresponding hollows in the outer faces of the jaws 1 and 1 \; these hollows are arranged on the same axis as the cavities, into which the patella partially penetrates. It will be understood that if the branches of the spring 7 are longer than the radius of the ball joint and if the bolt 5 has sufficient clearance in the jaw 1, a rotation of the jaws 1 and 1 'is possible over a small angle and may cause these jaws to no longer be parallel to each other.

We can still have as an accessory a peg that we screw or plant in the wooden objects and on which we tighten the jaws of the support.
