Abstract
Dans un système de radiocommunication mobile cellulaire comportant des stations radio et des installations d'émission éloignées de celles-ci, les stations radio émettent et reçoivent des signaux radio qui, dans chaque cas, contiennent des signaux d'information. Dans la présente invention, le plus grand nombre possible des fonctions de traitement est transféré des stations radio aux installations d'émission. Le signal radio qu'une station radio doit émettre est facilement produit par la station radio parce que, dans l'installation d'émission, une porteuse non modulée et une porteuse modulée par le signal d'information sont produites, ces porteuses ayant des fréquences dont la différence correspond à la fréquence de porteuse du signal radio. Ces deux porteuses lumineuses sont transmises à la station radio et y sont mélangées dans un récepteur optique et le signal radio contenant le signal d'information est produit. Les signaux radio reçus par une station radio sont transmis optiquement à une installation d'émission où ils subissent un traitement additionnel. Cette émission est effectuée par un émetteur optique se trouvant dans l'installation d'émission qui produit une porteuse lumineuse non modulée et la transmet à un modulateur optique installé à la station radio. Dans ce modulateur, la lumière modulée par les signaux radio reçus est retransmise et les signaux radio sont recouvrés par hétérodynage à la réception des porteuses non modulée et modulée.
