Abstract
ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE:
The invention relates to a portable grill for firing with preferably solid fuel, e.g. charcoal or the like. The grill comprises a furnace, defined by a rectangular bottom wall, two end walls and two side walls, and a support for a grill grating or the like are arranged above the furnace. The object of the invention is to provide a grill requiring very small storage space and being simple to get ready for use. This is achieved in that the bottom wall of the furnace is pivotally connected to each end wall by at least two pivots for pivotal movement around a line that is parallel to and situated adjacent the edge of the bottom wall facing the end wall, and in that each side wall is pivotally connected to each end wall by a pivot which permits turning movement both around a line con-necting the pivots at both ends of the side wall and around a line that is parallel to and situated adjacent the edge of the side wall facing the end wall, so that the grill, after turning of the side walls to positions where they are parallel to the bottom wall, is collapsible to a substantially flat condition.

Description
351~
The present invention relates to a portable grill for firing with preferably solid fuel! said grill comprising a furnace and support means for a grill grating or the like arranged above the furnace, said furnace being de~ined by a substantially flat, rectangular bottom wall, two end walls and two sicle walls.
Previously known grills of this kind comprise in general a box that usually is provided with a number of legs, which in many cases are removable in order to facilitate trans- -port and storage o~ the grill. These grills have the dis-advantage that they require relatively large storage space when not in use, and grills having removable legs or the like further require some assembly work before use and some dis-mantling after use.
The object of the present invention is to provide a portable grill of the above-mentioned kind, which requires very small storage space and which in a very simple way can be made ready for use and after use be prepared for storageO
Accordingly, the invention as herein broadly claimed is a portable grill for firing with preferably solid fuel which comprises a furnace and a support for a grill grating or the like arranged above the furnace. The latter is defined by a substantially flat, rectangular bottom wall, two end walls and two side walls. The bottom wall is pivotally connected to each end wall by at least two pivot means for pivotal monement around a line that is parallel to and situated adjacent the edge of the bottom wall facing the end wall. Each side wall is pivotally connected to each end wall by a pivot means, which permits turning movement both around a line connecting the pi-vot means at both ends of the side walls and, with both sidewalls turned parallel to the bottom wall~ around a line that is parallel to and situated adjacent the edge of the side wall S~4 facing the encl wall. Each pivot means comprises an eye that is passed through an opening near the edge of the side wall or the bottom wall and a pin or the like which is fixed to the eye and is rota-tably but axi.ally non-~lidably arranged in an opening in the end wall. The side walls are of different heiyht, so that the yrill, a~ter turn.iny o:E the side wall to positions where -they are parallel to the bottom wall, is collapsible to a substan-tially flat condition.
An embodiment of the invention is described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings, on which Fig. 1 is a _ _ /

In order to facili--tate the handlirlg of the grill grating it is provided wi-th a :foldable handle 9. The end walls 2 and 3 are fllrther provided with openings lO at -thcir lower portions.
The bot-tom wall l and the side walls 4 and 5 are pivotally connected to the end walls 2 and 3 by means of a number of pi~ro-t means ll. The~ bottom l is connected to each side wall 2 and 3 b~ means of two pivot means ll, while each of the slde wa~ and 5 is connectetl i;o ca.ch end wal] by mcans o:f a single pivo-t means ll which is arranged adjacen-t to the -~0 ~l~per e~dgt? of 1;he resp~ct;ve side wall.
