Abstract
"método para o controle do peso molecular de polissacarídeo para o sorotipo 19a de streptococcus pneumoniae". a presente invenção refere-se a métodos melhorados para a produção de uma solução contendo polissacarídeos capsulares 19a de streptococcus pneumoniae isolado de alto peso molecular. em certos métodos, uma cultura de fermentação de células bacterianas de streptococcus pneumoniae que produzem polissacarídeos capsulares para o sorotipo 19a é fermentada durante menos do que 6 horas antes das células bacterianas serem submetidas à lise e os polissacarídeos capsulares são colhidos. em outros métodos, co2 é fornecido à cultura de fermentação. o fornecimento de co2 à cultura de fermentação inclui a adição de íons de bicarbonato na cultura de fermentação, a adição de íons de carbonato na cultura de fermentação, a adição de misturas de íons de bicarbonato e carbonato na cultura de fermentação, e sobreposição da cultura de fermentação com co2.
