Abstract

''COMPOSIçãO E PROCESSO PARA A PREPARAçãO DE UMA COMPOSIçãO COMPREENDENDO UM DENTRE FITOENO OU FITOFLUENO". é descrita uma preparação compreendendo os carotenóides fitoeno e fitoflueno em uma quantidade que, em combinação, é efetiva na prevenção de vários tipos de danos resultantes da oxidação e da exposição à luz ultravioleta. A preparação é essencialmente incolor e pode ser usada como uma preparação farmacêutica ou cosmética tópica, bem como um aditivo em preparações alimentícias. Em adição, também é descrito um processo para a produção de quantidades substantivas de fitoeno e de fitoflueno a partir de organismos produtores de carotenóide.
