A invenção refere-se a um método de separação de compostos orgânicos por meio de cristalização por suspensão em uma ou em várias etapas, sendo que cada etapa constitui-se de um cristalizador, eventualmente um recipiente de cristalização, e de um filtro (7) para separar a fase líquida da pasta de cristais. A fase líquida (8) separada no filtro (7) é reconduzida para a respectiva etapa de cristalização e a pasta de cristais (9, 11) é aduzida para a etapa subseq³ente ou é retirada da etapa final para a coluna de lavagem (20) para a separação completa da lixívia-mãe, o líquido empobrecido de isómero a ser cristalizado (21) sendo canalizado da etapa respectiva e a mistura de composto de partida (6a, 6b) sendo passada atrás da etapa de cristalização final.
