Abstract

"SISTEMA PARA PREPARAR PELOTAS DE FIBRA DE VIDRO TENDO BAIXA DESCOLORAçãO". Trata-se de um sistema de encolamento de duas partes para produzir pelotas de fibras adensadas, incolores de um material de fibras de reforço. O produto adensado pode ser produzido vantajosamente por aplicação, primeiramente, de uma composição de encolamento para reforçar os fios de fibras, corte dos fios de fibras de reforço em segmentos de fios cortados, aplicação de um encolamento aglutinante, e adensamento dos segmentos de fios cortados para formar pelotas de fibras adensadas. O encolamento aglutinante é formulado usando um copolímero de anidrido maléico, que gera um produto isento de descoloração. No processo de produção de pelotas, os fios cortados encolados são adensados por tombamento em uma câmara rotativa por um período de tempo suficiente para aumentar a densidade deles, mas insuficiente para degradar as fibras a um ponto no qual os artigos compostos formados dessas pelotas têm resistências à tração ou ao impacto mais baixas do que os artigos compostos comparáveis formados de segmentos de fios não pelotizados.
