Abstract
"PROCESSO E PLANTA PARA UTILIZAçãO DE MATERIAIS REMANESCENTES QUE CONTêM FERRO E METAIS PESADOS E, SE ADEQUADO, MINéRIO DE FERRO". Para utilizar materiais remanescentes que contêm ferro e metais pesados e, se apropriado, minério de ferro, é utilizado um método no qual: - os materiais remanescentes e, se adequado, o minério de ferro, são introduzidos em um ciclone de fundição (1) com fluxo de retorno, - agentes redutores e oxigênio são adicionalmente introduzidos no ciclone de fundição (1) e tornados turbulentos, - o ferro é reduzido pelo menos a FeO no ciclone de fundição (1), - os metais pesados são reduzidos para formar metais, no ciclone de fundição (1), e são convertidos na fase gasosa por vaporização, - o gás resultante, que pode conter metais pesados, o ferro parcialmente reduzido e a escória, são transferidos para dentro de uma fornalha (5) diretamente acoplada, - é fornecida energia à fornalha (5) na forma elétrica, de preferência através de um arco direto, - agentes redutores e oxigênio ou ar enriquecido com oxigênio são introduzidos na fornalha (5), - ferro é totalmente reduzido e parcialmente fundido na fornalha (5) e - os metais pesados vaporizados são precipitados fora da fornalha (5), de modo que o ferro se torne disponível para processamento adicional e não exista necessidade de descartar os materiais remanescentes (Fig. 1).
