Complete Specification for the invention entitled: "SURFACES' ASSEMBLY FITTINGS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE INJECTION MOULDS" The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me/ us
II
~1111~ 111 1- 2 Co p C C p *o C This invention relates to the moulds construction art for constructing buildings or building concrete works.
The conventional technique of constructing concrete moulds comprises of the use of planks or surfaces made from plywood or even metallic surfaces in some cases which are assembled via rafters, where the said surfaces are cut in predetermined dimensions, riveted and tightened by bracing fixings or wooden parts. This construction demands skilled workforce, the consumption of a significant amount of materials, which are destroyed when dismantling takes place (wood, rivets, wires, etc) and a considerable length of time for completing the construction.
The present invention aims to provide a technical method as well as the necessary fittings which would overcome the above mentioned problems of conventional techniques and, at the same time, reduce the construction costs of the concrete moulds which may be used in the building's construction and in every construction made of concrete, reinforced or not.
The invention aims to improve the conventional methods by eliminating the current disadvantages of the materials which are incorporated in the concrete mould's construction.
In accordance with one aspect of the present invention there is provided claim an assembly for construction of moulds for concrete constructions, comprising: a series of surface-frames each comprising a substantially planar surface with side members provided on a side thereof, said side members having holes therein; a series P, 1 r U 2aof connecting members each of which is provided with pins which are receivable in said holes of said side members such that adjacent said surface-frames are connectable to one another; and, a series of base members each having holes therein arranged to align with said holes in said side members and arranged to receive said pins of said connecting members for joining said base members to said surface-frames.l By means of the assembly according to the present invention, the construction of concrete injection moulds of metallic, plastic or wooden surfaces is readily accomplished. The invented fittings and the surface-frame members which are joined by them, lead to a quick I: construction of concrete moulds, which may have any shape or dimension. Therefore, there is no further demand for riveting, cutting planks or other wooden surfaces, using .bracing fixings or employing workforce, skillful in the construction of concrete moulds.
Further advantages of the invention are the time saved"'.
during the mould's construction, the avoidance of the frequent wearing out of the moulding materials and the quick, easy and inexpensive dismantling of the moulds by unskilled workforce. The forming surfaces of the moulds may be metallic, plastic or made of plywood and carry on the one side vertical plastic or wooden parallelogram side members, assembled on the surfaces' perimeter. The said -side members comprise holes spaced at the same or any preferred distance. These holes are arranged to receive pins. These pins are carried by other fittings, namely the jA/O~ >1 ti i i

members. Through these pins each surface is joined rigidly to the other, providing, at the same time, the flexibility to construct moulds of any size and dimension.
The use of a one size surface-frame member is sufficient for constructing differently dimensioned moulds. The great advantage of the said surface-frame member, incorporating the side members and their holes, is that by using a one size surface-frame member, one may construct moulds of shores, beams, walls or other shapes which may have different dimensions.
A metallic, plastic or wooden fitting, of beam form, which comprises holes corresponding to those of the side members at the perimeter of the forming surfaces, is the surface-frame's supporting base which is placed on the 15 ground.
Another fitting which is used for connecting the surfaces-frame members in a vertical direction in the case of a long surface, is a joining element. The joining element iIei comprises a metallic, plastic or wooden surface and members; these members comprise holes arranged vertically on the surface's perimeter. The joining element also comprises transverse members with a central hole, through which a metallic bar, which supports two parallel walls, passes. Due to the joining element there is no need for conventional fittings to join the parallel walls (fixings, wires, etc).
The invention will now be described, by way of example, in connection with certain preferred indicative industrial S embodiments, with reference to the following illustrative ~ntlA il 11 ifi -4Afigures, in order to be fully understood by the skilled in the art.

•a DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION With reference to the said accompanying figures and to a 20 preferred illustrative example of an industrial application a of the invention, the main parts of the invented fittings, which will be described in the following paragraphs, are accompanied by their numbers. These parts are enumerated accordingly, wherever they appear in the following figures.
The said parts are illustrative in a simple, hypothetical ratio of magnitude, without illustrating the real mechanism in scale.
According to a preferred illustrative application of the Uinvention, the main fitting for attaining the invention's Nj V L .l i--nr 1 11 V object is a surface-frame member (shown in Figure 1) which II comprises a surface 1 which is made of an iron, plate or plywood sheet. on one. side of the surface 1, along its circumference or perimeter, the surface 1 carries side members 2. These members 2 may be welded, riveted or formed by pressing the sheet of the surface 1. The members 2incorporate holes 4 along their length. The space between the holes 4 is indicatively fixed at five centimeter intervals (from one hole's center to -the next one), taking into consideration that in most of the existing structures, columns, shores, beams, walls, the S..:intervals are at 5cm spacing. Nevertheless, the intervals of the holes 4 may be larger or smaller than the exemplified intervals. on the side of the surface 1 where the.-members 2 are mounted, bulkheads 3 are assenobled., between the members 2. These bulkheads 3 support both the surface 1 and the members 2.
Illustratively.,.one dimension of the surface-frame members is 4ithin the range of 50cm to 80cm which can serve the 20 normal structures of shores and beams but the, construction of surface-frame members of any size is also possible. The advantage of this invention is that the use of a one-size surface-frame member makes the construction of moulds for pipes, walls and beams of different dimensions possible.
The spaces between the holes 4 of the side members 2 correspond to the spaces between the pins 11 of an angle member The other fittings which assist in the assembly of the 2~'~9W surfaci-frame members and the construction of the moulds I_ 7 are: the base 5, which may be made of metal, plastic or wood in the shape of a beam, with an upper surface of parallelogram shape, carrying holes 4\at the same distance spacing as in the/member 21 the joining element (shown in Figure 3) of the surface-frame members, which comprises a surface 9 on one side of which there are circumferential or perimetral members 6 with holes 4 (identical to the holes 4 of the members 2) and transversally along its length it carries a number of stiffeners 7.
The joining element (Figure 3) is assembled with the surface-frame members in the following way. The surface-frame members have their side members 2 in contact with the members 6, of the joining elements, while S" tightening keys 12 are inserted into the holes 4, 15 connecting the respective members 2 and The whole.
surface is jointed to the base 5, with side members 2 being in contact with the upper surface of the base 5, while the pins 11 of an angle member 10 are inserted into the holes 4 of the base 5 and the corresponding holes 4 of the surface-frame members.
The holes 4 of the members 6 may be at 5cm intervals or intervals of different dimensions (as in Figure 3) in such a way that they function in. the same way as in the described embodiment, providing the same joining capability as the holes 4 of the surface-frame member shown in Figure 1.
The angle members 10, which may be made of thin metal or plastic, carry a number of pins 11 and they are used for connecting the surface-frame members one above the other t^ .i l^ r -8along their height, as well as one to another at a right angle. The connection is attained by inserting the pins 11 into the holes 4 of the members 2, both of a lower surface-frame member and an upper surface-frame member.
The distance of the intervals between the pins 11 corresponds to the distances between the holes 4.
Illustratively, in Figure 11, is shown the application of the angle members 10 in the joining of surface-frame members, which mounts them on the base 5 as well as to assemble the surface-frame members along their height or one vertically above the other for the formation of a mould for a column. The angle members 13 (shown in Figure 7) which have the pins 11 extending only from the one side C thereof, are used for joining the surface-frame members or the enid of the beam to the',upper end of the mould for the I.....:column.
The hook (shown in Figures 8,9 and 10) carries a shaft 16 which is inserted through holes 4 and a blade 15 which i. anchors a pipe 18 (shown in Figure 13) and restrains it in 20 order to create a horizontal joint of all the surface-frame members. For the constructions of a mould (for a column) J oiLE any dimension four surface-frame members of the same size are used. At the lowest level four bases 5 are placed in such a way that in case the length or the width of the column is to be less than the corresponding dimension of the bases 5, the remaining parts, of the bases 5 extend beyond the corners formed by the four bases In the same way the surface-frame members are assembled wi vertically such that the surface-frame members extend 7- _i i i i 9 beyond the corners formed by the surface-frame members.
The joining together of the bases 5 is effected by mounting four angle members 10, whose pins 11 are inserted in the holes 4 of the bases 5, at the corners formed by the four bases 5 in order to join the bases 5 between them.
Furthermore, the pins 11, which project upwards, are inserted in the holes 4 of the side members 2 of the surface-frame members and join them together in order to form first lowermost circumferential or perimetral part of the mould.
The pins 11 also join the surface-frame members.
This can be seen at the lower portion of Figure 11 to the bases S" Four other angle members 10, with their pins 11 being S" 15 inserted in holes.4, are assembled over the first, lowermost assembled part of the mould, at the corners of the upper portion thereof. This can be seen in the middle "portion of Figure 11. Above these angle members 10, four other surface-frame members are assembled, creating a second circumferential or perimetral part of the mould.
Depending upon the required height of the column to be formed, further surface-frame members are mounted above the _existing surface-frame members in an arrangement as hereinabove described.
Figure 12 shows the construction of two parallel columns, as well as their supporting scaffold.
Figure 13 shows illustratively the joint of the invented I gJA/V fittings, in order to construct a mould for a wall.
4 The surface-frame members are jointed together horizontally *1 j by the joining elements shown in Figure 3 which are arranged in an upwardly extending manner along the height of the construction, joining surface-frame members along their height to form a complete joining of all the surface-frame members. The connection between surface-frame members, and between the joining element (shown in Figure 3) and the surface-frame members is accomplished by connecting keys 12 which are inserted into the holes 4 of the surface-frame members and the holes 4 of the joining element. The mould for a wall is closed at its corners by the surface-frame members which are joined to the angle members .10 in the same way as in the construction of the mould for a column as was described with reference to Figure 11.
In order..to retain the two parallel sides of the mould, for a wall at the required spacing, plastic tubes 19 are placed between the two parallel walls, as shown in Figure 13. A metallic bar 20 extends through a hole in- the joining element, inside the plastic tube 19. This is shown in t .20 Figure 14. At one end, the bar 20 is supported by its head, while at the other end it is retained by a metallic butterfly clamp. This can be seen in Figure 13.
To support the walls of the mould on their outer side, a horizontally extending pipe 18 is provided at the appropriate height. Furthermore, inclined butresses 21 Support the pipe 18.
Alternatively, horizontal pipes 22 may be used which are LbM, supported by a scaffold 23.
n Figure 15 there is shown an illustrative structure of a 'i .i w l' r 1 -a m-w j ii 1- 11 mould for a plate with two beams at its end. The mould for the beams is constructed using the same surface-frame members, and in the same way as the moulds for a column are constructed, where the surface-frame members are provided in the required dimensions.
It should be noted -hat the present description of the invention has been made with references to some of the illustrative embodiments. Therefore, any changes or modifications to the shape, form, dimensions, materials used, construction fittings and assembly fittings should not be considered as departing from the spirit and the scope of the present invention.
