Abstract

The glow insert is of tubular design and made from ceramic material. It consists of at least two tube pieces, in each case open at both ends, each tube piece of which has a first end with a larger cross-section and a second end with a smaller cross-section. At least one tube piece reaches with its second end into the first end of an adjacent tube piece in such a manner that, between the tube pieces which overlap or engage in one another in this manner, at least one ring-type gap is formed. At least on the second end of a tube piece, which projects into an adjacent tube piece, the peripheral wall of this tube piece is, in at least three regions staggered around the longitudinal axis of the tube piece, drawn inwards in such a manner that there are formed, on the outer surface of the peripheral wall of the tube piece, channels which are open to this outer surface and to the second end, are approximately V-shaped in cross-section, extend in the longitudinal direction of the tube piece and the depth of which increases towards the second end, and, on the inside of the tube piece, noses which project inwards from the peripheral wall and the height of which increases towards the second end of the tube piece.
