Abstract

The machine housing is made of folded/pressed metal (1) with the edges bent over to form a lip. The lip has a rolled over edge (13,14) and a recess (10) to locate a sealing strip (9) by which the housing is sealed to the mounting (22). Threaded fasteners (21) secure the housing to the mounting and compress the seal. The seal is made of a material resistant to the lubricant etc. contained inside the housing. Doors and access ports are provided in the housing and are fitted using appropriate hinges etc.. <IMAGE>
