Abstract

The invention relates to a steam-ironing apparatus comprising an iron (1), an independent water generator (2) and a flexible pipe (3) for connecting the water generator (2) to the iron (1). The generator (2) comprises a removable demineralisation cartridge (8) which is interposed in the water circuit between a pump (7) and the iron and which has an inlet/outlet plug (10) for the water to be treated, and a connecting device (10') comprising a first conduit connecting the outlet of the pump (7) to the plug (10), a second conduit connecting the plug (10) to the flexible connection pipe (3), and a control member. According to the invention, the first conduit comprises a flexible part, and the control member is designed to generate an external deformation of the flexible part so as to shut off the said flexible pipe in the absence of the demineralisation cartridge. <IMAGE>
