Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  Wire belt made of helically wound wires.

   The subject matter of the present invention is a wire belt, in which the adjacent belt cross-parts, which are expediently made of helically wound wires, are not brought into connection, as previously, by rigid push-through wires that exclude flexibility in the transverse direction, but by means of pushed-through, twisted wire strands, whereby the wire belt is also flexible in its width, thanks to which it can be guided in trough-shaped systems instead of the rubber or balata conveyor belts that have been used up to now.

   In order to achieve a greater density, the wire cavities can be provided with flexible inserts made of cheap substitute or waste material such as straw, paper, jute, paper substitute, wood and the like, which close the belt mesh and prevent the material from falling through.

   Fig. 1 shows part of a wire belt inserted according to the invention in a top view. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section and Fig. 3 is a cross section through the wire belt. The wire belt consists of helically wound wires 1 provided with flattened turns, the winding direction changing in the successive wires.

  Two adjacent wires are connected by means of a wire cable 2 consisting of twisted wire strands, which, due to its flexibility, gives the wire belt a pliability even in the transverse direction, as can be seen from FIG. 3, so that it can be used instead of the rubber or balata conveyor belts Trough-shaped systems can be performed.

   The stranded cable ends protruding at the side edges of the belt can, as FIG. 1 shows, be entwined with one another.

   The wire cavities contain flexible inserts 3 made of any cheap substitute or waste material, such as straw, paper, jute, paper jute substitute, wood and the like. These inserts prevent the material from falling through the belt.

   The wire belt described is a perfect replacement for rubber and cotton conveyor belts, has a significantly longer service life compared to these and is also efficient in use.
