Description

  Harnischschnur.

  Harness cord.

The harness cords used up to now are made from threads that are only twisted to the right, which has the disadvantage that they also twist when the temperature changes while they are expanding or contracting. This twist is also transferred to the strands hanging from the harness cords; As a result, it often happens that, especially with wire strands and when using fine yarns, the chain thread turns around the strand or the strand rotates so that the chain thread can no longer easily pass through the strand ring; As a result, the warp thread takes the strand forward with it during weaving, until the thread finally breaks.

In order to eliminate these inconveniences, an equal number of right and left twisted threads (Fig. 1 and 2) are tied together to form a cord (Fig. 3), which must therefore have as much wire on one side as on the other side. This cord can thus at most shorten or lengthen, but not twist, when the temperature changes.
