Durch das Stammpatent Nr. 47633 ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von reinem Elsen geschützt, bei welchem die Desoxydation des überoxydierten Metalles durch Zusatz genau dosierter Aluminiummengen vorgenommen wird.
Es hat sich nun gezeigt, dass diese Desoxydation anstatt mit Aluminium auch mit Hilfe anderer Mittel durchgeführt werden kann, welche ähnliche Eigenschaften wie Aluminium aufweisen, d. h. welche leicht oxydierbar sind und daher schon in kleinen Mengen eine kräftige Desoxydationswirkung ausüben.
Als derartige Mittel kommen vor allem Titan, Kalzium, Vanadium, Magnesium, Strontium, Barium und dgl. in Betracht.
Die Stoffe können als Metalle oder in Form von Legierungen angewendet werden.
Es können ferner mehrere dieser Stoffe nebeneinander oder auch in Mischung mit Aluminium oder in Mischung mit Aluminium und Roheisen benützt werden. Gegebenenfalls kann die Desoxydation auch mit Hilfe von Ferrosilizium in Verbindung mit Aluminium oder einem der genannten Stoffe, und zwar entweder mit oder ohne gleichzeitige Verwendung von Roheisen erfolgen.
PATENT-ANSPRÜCHE :
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von schmiedbarem Eisen aus Roheiten beliebiger Herkunft nach Stammpatent Nr. 47633, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass an Stelle von Aluminium zur Desoxydation des überoxydierten Metalles ein anderes, leicht oxydierbares Mittel benützt wird.

A process for the production of pure Elsen is protected by the parent patent no. 47633, in which the deoxidation of the overoxidized metal is carried out by adding precisely dosed amounts of aluminum.
It has now been shown that, instead of using aluminum, this deoxidation can also be carried out with the help of other means which have properties similar to aluminum, i.e. H. which are easily oxidized and therefore have a powerful deoxidizing effect even in small quantities.
Titanium, calcium, vanadium, magnesium, strontium, barium and the like are particularly suitable as such agents.
The substances can be used as metals or in the form of alloys.
Furthermore, several of these substances can be used next to one another or also in a mixture with aluminum or in a mixture with aluminum and pig iron. If necessary, the deoxidation can also be carried out with the aid of ferrosilicon in conjunction with aluminum or one of the substances mentioned, either with or without the simultaneous use of pig iron.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A process for the production of malleable iron from raw iron of any origin according to parent patent no. 47633, characterized in that instead of aluminum for deoxidizing the overoxidized metal, another, easily oxidizable agent is used.
