Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

In addition to the closing electromagnet for Ferraris meters.
It is known that alternating current meters based on the Ferraris principle must have a phase shift of 900 between the voltage field and the main current field with an inductive load if they are to measure correctly even with an inductive load.
The present invention provides a simple way of producing this phase shift.
FIGS. 1 to 6 show a shunt magnet with different force line paths.
The similar force line currents running in the actual stator iron have a relatively low magnetic resistance, while the bracket b, which forms the field carrier for the third circuit at right angles to it, forms a magnetic force line path of greater reluctance.
In the previously known design, these magnets do not have the metal sheets b and it is not possible to achieve a phase shift of 900 between the main current field in phase with the voltage and the voltage field without further aids. If you now attach a sheet of paramagnetic material to the iron core of the shunt magnet in the manner shown, so that it encompasses the drive pulley of the movable counter part, an eddy current field is induced in this bow-shaped part, which combines with the remaining shunt field to form a reluctance, so that a phase shift can be achieved with an appropriate choice, which is then reduced to exactly 900 by known aids.
