Process for the preparation of bromo- and iodolecithin
The subject matter of the present invention is a process by means of which bromo- and iodine-lecithin can be produced in a very simple manner on the lecithin, which is distinguished from the preparations of this type previously presented in that it has the unpleasant odor resulting from the use of chloroform and taste is completely free.
The present method consists only of lecithin being dissolved in carbon tetrachloride
EMI1.1
Mentioned amount of hydrobromic acid is somewhat less than that amount which is required to prepare bromolecithin with 25% bromine content. The mass obtained after shaking is mixed with 150 g of anhydrous, calcined sodium carbonate to neutralize the hydrobromic acid, and this mixture is filtered again through 50 g of calcined sodium carbonate placed on a filter.
The carbon tetrachloride is distilled off from the filtered mixture in a vacuum apparatus and the remaining mass, which is already finished bromolecithin, is evacuated to drive out the slight moisture it still contains
