Lampengruppe frei gibt.

 EMI1.1

 EMI1.2
Contact r open. The releasing switch ABS interrupts the ignition circuit again and finally at 3-4. The subsequent switch from 7-8 to 7-9 results in the remaining one

Contact r closes again, the starting device has become free to ignite the next lamp. When using this starting device, the rapidly operating relay R saves the repetition of the starting process by actuating the ABS switch if the ignition has not taken place.

The lamp group shown is also started up analogously to the process described.

The system shutdown switch AAS is used to switch off the entire fluorescent lamp system, which, when actuated, changes the polarity of the operating lines B1, B2. Since all the exemplary embodiments are suitable for both alternating and direct current operation, symmetrical wear of the two lamp electrodes is ensured in the latter as well.

     PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A method for starting lighting systems with several parallel-connected fluorescent lamps or groups of such lamps, characterized in that all lamps have a single starting device (AE) consisting of means for voltage increase known per se and each lamp or lamp.

Lamp group has its own start-up switch (ABS) assigned to it, the latter switching off the starting device (AE) after the associated lamp or lamp group has been ignited, thus enabling it to start the next lamp or lamp group.

Claims (1)

2. Start operating switch for carrying out the method according to claim 1, characterized in that it closes the ignition circuit in which the starting device (AE) is located when it is switched on and then (e.g. under spring action) switches to the operating state, whereby it first interrupts the ignition circuit (contacts 3-4) and then, with simultaneous disconnection of the starting device (contacts 7-8), connects the ignited lamp or lamp group to the operating voltage (contacts 7-9) without interruption.
