Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Gasgefüllte elektrische Entladungsröhre.
EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

can not only take place inside the discharge tube or in the base, but also outside it. The parallel connection can also be achieved in that the two support wires of the anodes are conductively connected to one another inside the discharge tube. In this case, the two anodes can also be attached to the same support wire. When the tube is connected to a power source, a stabilization impedance is switched on between the parallel-connected discharge paths and the power source. However, leakage field transformers can also be used.
The discharge tube contains a rare gas, e.g. B. neon, under a pressure of 1 mm, while there is also sodium vapor in the tube, for which purpose metallic sodium is brought into the part of the discharge tube in which the electrodes are located. B. can be done in the way. that in this part a small glass container filled with sodium is inserted, which is shattered after venting the tube. This part of the discharge tube is closed off by a screen 10 from the part lying around the plate tube. This screen prevents the sodium vapor from condensing in the part of the discharge tube in which the tubular plate is located.
If an arc discharge is now produced between the hot cathode 2 and the anode during operation, it is evident that the discharge takes place both between the hot cathode and the anode 3 and between the hot cathode and the anode 4. As a result, the light emitting discharge phenomena occur over the entire length of the discharge tube. Nevertheless, the ignition and operating voltage are only determined by the distance between the hot cathode and the anode that is closest to the hot cathode.
Since the anodes in the discharge tube are set up at the same distance from the hot cathode, the ignition and operating voltage are determined by half the mutual distance between the anodes, while the discharge phenomena occur over the entire length of the discharge tube.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Gas-filled electrical discharge tube, characterized in that it contains two or more discharge paths electrically connected in parallel with a common hot cathode and two or more anodes electrically connected to one another without the interposition of an impedance.
