   Erfahrungsgemäss kann der Glühvorgang in Drahtglühöfen über ein bestimmtes Mass hinaus auch durch grössere Wärmezufuhr nicht verkürzt werden, da der Wärmeübergang von Draht zu Draht in den   übereinander-und ineinanderliegenden   Drahtringen ein sehr schlechter ist. Eine Wärmezufuhr, die grösser ist als die Wärmeableitungsfähigkeit, führt deshalb unbedingt zu einer sehr starken Temperatursteigerung in den äussersten Drahtlagen, ohne dass dadurch der Glühprozess selbst wesentlich beschleunigt wird. 



   Nach der Erfindung soll dieser Temperaturausgleich dadurch beschleunigt werden, dass zwischen die Drahtringe in bestimmten Abständen Vollblechseheiben aus einem besser wärmeleitenden Material, z. B. Kupfer, eingelegt werden, die den Transport der Wärme von aussen nach innen besorgen. 



   In der Zeichnung ist als Ausführungsbeispiel ein elektrisch geheizter Drahtglühofen im Längsschnitt dargestellt, bei dem sich der zu glühende Draht a in einem besonderen, mit indifferentem Gas gefüllten
