Abstract
Secuencias de polinucleotidos que codifican genes que pueden conferir resistencia al patogeno de plantas Colletotrichum, que causa antracnosis, podredumbre del tallo, tizon de las hojas y degeneracion de los brotes en maíz y otros cereales. Además plantas y semillas de plantas que contienen genes quiméricos que comprenden dichas secuencias de polinucleotidos, que aumentan o confieren resistencia al patogeno de plantas Colletotrichum, y con procesos para obtener dichas plantas y semillas. Asimismo secuencias que se pueden emplear como marcadores moleculares, que a su vez se pueden usar para identificar la region de interés en líneas de maíz que son el resultado de cruzamientos nuevos para introducir de manera rápida y eficaz a los genes de las líneas de maíz que contienen dichos genes en otras líneas de maíz que no contienen dichos genes, con el fin de volverlas resistentes a Colletotrichum y resistentes a la podredumbre del tallo. Reivindicacion 1: Un polinucleotido aislado que comprende un polinucleotido seleccionado del grupo formado por: (a) una secuencia de nucleotidos que codifica un polipéptido capaz de conferir o mejorar la. resistencia a Colletotrichum cuando se coexpresa en una planta con una segunda secuencia de nucleotidos que codifica a la SEQ ID N°: 3, en donde el polipéptido tiene una secuencia de aminoácidos de al menos 75% de identidad, cuando se compara con la SEQ ID N°:246 basado en el algoritmo de alineacion de Needleman-Wunsch; (b) un complemento de la secuencia de nucleotidos de (a), donde dicho complemento y la secuencia de nucleotidos consisten del mismo numero de nucleotidos y son 100% complementarios; y (c) una secuencia de nucleotidos que codifica un polipéptido que confiere o mejora la resistencia a Colletotrichum, cuando se coexpresa en una planta con una segunda secuencia de nucleotidos que codifica a la SEQ ID N°:3, en donde el polipéptido tiene una secuencia de aminoácidos de al menos 75% de identidad, cuando se compara con la secuencia del plásmido depositado con el N° Deposito de Patentes NRRL B-50050 basado en el algoritmo de alineacion de Needleman-Wunsch.
