Kenneth Gass
Paleontology has fascinated me for most of my life. As a boy I would comb the fields, excavations and rock outcrops near my home in the vicinity of Milwaukee, searching for Silurian and Devonian fossils. A new Silurian species of encrinurid trilobite that I stumbled onto started a string of papers and other works on that family. Eventually the Cambrian Blackberry Hill Konservat-Lagerstätte, less than 50 miles from my current home, drew me in. Since that time I have added the highly diverse biota of the Givetian (Middle Devonian) Milwaukee Formation and the soft-bodied early Silurian biota of the Brandon Bridge Formation (Waukesha Biota) to my active research subjects.
