This paper describes the relationship between followership style and performance in Service Sector. 188 randomly selected mid-management responses from the two organisation were collected. A questionnaire was administered in a bank and export house, and for testing hypothesis, a multiple regression test was used. Results indicate that out of five followership styles; four styles were demonstrated i.e passive, alienated, exemplary and conformist. Conformist followership style was the most common followership style observed among the mid-management of service sector. There is a
positive relationship between high active engagement and dependent uncritical thinking leading to performance.

This paper describes the Leadership Style and Organisational effectiveness in Delhi NCR. Attempt was made to determine if there is a significant relationship between leadership styles in relation to organisation effectiveness. A total of 67 randomly selected leaders from the Delhi NCR completed leadership style and organisational effectiveness questionnaires. The data indicates that in Delhi NCR: (a) leadership styles included directive, supportive, participated and action oriented leadership style. The most common leadership style among is directive leadership style. (b) there is no relationship between directive leadership styles and organisation effectiveness. (c) There is no relationship between action oriented leadership style and organisation effectiveness.

Abstract: A study was conducted to measure the relationship between leadership styles and followership style (i.e. Independent thinking and Active Engagement) using 79 usable questionnaires obtained from employees who are working in Delhi NCR, showed important findings by using Pearson Correlation analysis: first, the most preferred style of leadership is Participative leadership style; second, Exemplary style of followership is most preferred followership style; third, Participative leadership is not significantly correlated with Independent & Critical thinking. Leadership is lifting a person’s vision to high sights and raising performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitation–Peter F Drucker. For creating or nurturing New Leaders by existing leaders, having effective leadership characteristics is key.This paper focusses on what characteristics are required by leaders for creating New Leaders. For this study 108 sample respondents had been drawn out from senior and middle management of banks and financial institution. One-Way ANOVAand Regression analysis in SPSS 22.0 have evaluated the data for finding out whether there was any significant difference in the Oke (outlook, knowledge, expertise) and 4S (Self, Social,Strategic, Systematic skills required). It identifies the underlying of the current leadership skills exist and the need for a new leadership paradigm -shift from being the best in the world to the best for the world; a shift from what’s in it for me to what’s best for the common good; and a shift from “I” to “we” by emphasising on how existing leaders and organisation together can create new leaders in system.
