Joker 2019
I liked this film a decent amount when it came out but it has really soured on me over time. Just a really shallow and vapid film. Not much different than a film like Cruella or Maleficent except that it's rated R and cosplays as a Scorsese film that's forgetten to have anything meaningful to say. It looks and sounds elegant and has some pretty great performances, but it's also a contrived-ass plot with an annoying amount of hand-holding and fan service. Someone needs to tell the writers that home videos going 'viral' wasn't a thing in the 1980s.

Queen of Earth 2015
Elisabeth Moss deserves an Olympic medal for all the heavy lifting she does to elevate a film with this weak of a script. When the characters aren't bickering or being generally unpleasant to each other, they're usually doing some pretty compelling monologues over some interesting visuals and music. It's far from bad, but a total style over substance with a bizarre ending.

Probably the only Disney movie I used to have on repeatedly as a child that I find worth revisiting and praising this highly. And if I'm being honest, there are parts of this film I'm not in love with. The humor in the film feels the most aged, and while not terrible, is emblematic of that Disney's brand/aesthetic that I can't stand.
