As a child, I lived in an interrelated world where I could communicate with plants, trees, and animals. However, I, influenced by others' perceptions of reality, eventually rejected my experiential reality. Later, I also initially cast aside my belief in a soul as I did not find it reflected while studying psychology. To understand more about the repudiation of my own experiences, I explore the mechanisms we use to influence the reality of others when children are young and later in the academic environment. I also refer to research that backs up or reflects some of my experiences. As society is seen here as a "collection of minds", this author contends it is impossible to understand unconscious psychological biases without considering the biases in the prevailing group or subgroup of society that reflect the collective thought of its members. Psychology and its various branches constitute a subgroup where the prevailing understandings of psychology and its branches change depending on the unconscious metaphysical biases and preferences in vogue among their members. To understand these biases, I share some metaphysical understandings of reality according to the three principal schools of Indian Spirituality (Advaita, Dvaita and Vishishadvaita), Theravada Buddhism and the three Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). To overcome these biases, educators should be aware of and openly declare their metaphysical position so others can assess their teachings according to the shared framework. It is also recommended that the metaphysical positions, including those not mentioned here, be taught in Psychology and Transpersonal Psychology. Through accepting differences, we can show respect for each other's understanding, yet at the same time, we can be true to our position, as it affects all we think, say and do. However, in the end, only knowledge based on our lived experiences can finally put a stop to our questions.

By spelling out the link between Transhumanism, the 4th Industrial revolution, and globalism, which together form the economic thrust of mankind’s projected future, this paper invites a rethink about the direction envisaged by modern-day society. The underlying linking factor of these enterprises is the Humanist movement that, like Transhumanism, shares a Utopian view of the world and supplies the relative ethical underpinning for these ‘so-called’ new advances. Three Manifestos lay out the objectives of the Humanist Association describing it as a religion that is supposed to replace other older deity-based religions. Its progressive philosophy of life without theism or other supernational beliefs leads to a break with the past and affirms humans' "ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfilment that aspire to the greater good.” But can we live ethical lives where the accent is on fulfilling only our personal desires, which include the right to unrestricted contraception, abortion and divorce and death with dignity eg. Euthanasia and suicide? Ethical relativism is taken to a new extreme by Transhumanism, which rests on the idea that humans should embrace self-directed human evolution using technology to transcend their current natural state and limitations, ie disease, ageing, and even death. According to this author, it is time we moved beyond the limited materialist view, not through global movements like Humanism and Transhumanism, but through exploring and discovering our spiritual nature and the spiritual underpinning of reality. Through this endeavor, we can learn to live in harmony with each other and nature, where the accent is on service to others. Based on experience, we soon realize that our happiness depends on others being happy and includes looking after the weak, the aged, and the infirm. Ethical relativism and lack of clear values will not get us there; on the contrary, they will probably lead to hell on earth.

Here it is suggested that the hieroglyphics found in the caves of Spain and elsewhere are the woman's traditional way of understanding the nature of reality cataphatically. This comprehension rests on the special relationship only a woman has with elements in the cosmos based on the natural cycles that occur in her body and during pregnancy. This relationship gives rise to a reverence for all life; a much-needed attribute to combat transhumanism and its stated desire to embrace self-directed human evolution using technology to transcend current natural states and limitations, ie disease, ageing, and even death. The Humanist Manifesto II was the first step in the development of Transhumanism by denying the existence of the mystery behind the creation and emphasising eugenics as a way of controlling life.

Although our thoughts are especially with Ukrainian and Russian people, we also believe that one cannot understand this conflict without looking at the bigger picture, which must include the planned new world order initiated by certain interest groups in the West. It must also include the possibility that the recent pandemic is part of a strategy to reset the way humans conduct their lives, which not only has not met with the approval of all countries, such as Russia, but also a growing number of people in the West, including different political parties in countries, such as the USA. It also cannot be separated from population control and eugenics as a way of controlling society by the elite.

Suicide is a complex phenomenon, which is multifaceted and probably depends on several interconnected factors. Here, the possible link between suicide, or suicide ideation, and the lack of a loving parental presence, particularly that of the mother, in infancy and early childhood, is explored. Presented considerations include animal studies, such as Harlow's study using infant monkeys, enforced parent-child separations involving First Nations and Métis Peoples, which took place in Canada as part of colonial policies, and research from developmental psychology, neurobiology and animal epigenetics, which indicate inconsistent parenting and/or neglect may lead to long-term mental health problems. The role of feeling-based heart consciousness, which is related to our overall well-being, is also discussed. In conclusion, I suggest we need to reflect deeply on the breakdown of the family, the modern lifestyle, and the possible long-term health hazards these tendencies are creating.

My fascination with the Pythia began several years ago when I was writing a paper on different ways of knowing. Although the Pythia is surrounded in myth and has been written about by numerous authors both in the past and present, it seems to me she still has a story to tell which has not been touched on before. The Pythia was the priestess at Delphi and among other things, she had to be a virgin ( pathenos ), or at least originally. We also know that inscribed on the forecourt temple of Apollo was the maxim " Know Thyself ". When we put these aspects together with the non-denominational method of meditation used by early cults in the Mediterranean area and other parts of the world known as Prayer of the Heart, a different meaning of the word virgin starts to reveal itself. This also suggests that these priestesses might have been mystics trained in an esoteric tradition, which leads to Self-discovery or the Godliness of humans.

On the grounds of a possible parallel between embryogenesis, including the fertilization process, and the development of the Universe, the validity of the Big Bang theory is questioned. In this article, it is suggested that the fundamental nature of the Universe is a cosmic play of opposites, the male and female principle; a polarity, which is inherent in everything as indicated by the yin yang symbol. Even for an electrical charge to exist one needs a positive and negative pole. It also proposes that all matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force that brings all particles to pulsation; a conscious Mind that is expressing itself through ever-changing pulsating forms. Although this invisible spiritual principle behind creation becomes tangible in animals and humans via the heart, it is only the human being who can realize his or her fundamental nature or true Self through a journey of inner discovery. As the development of the Universe might reflect the process the embryo undergoes in forming a body, the principles discussed in this article might also apply to the nature of Nature itself. This implies all of Nature might be a living being or organism, an interconnected whole united through the underlying creative pulsating force. The suggestions put forward here have theological and cosmological implications.

The view upheld in this article, is that the embryo is a unique living being that starts life in this dimension as a zygote and goes through a process of morphological differentiation that involves various forms. This process of somatogenesis (formation of a body) appears to follow the principle kingdoms of nature showing reminiscence of the mineral, plant, animal and human phases, a process it shares with all human embryos. The characteristic "way of being" of the organism during each phase is also presented. An historical background to other early theories involving somatogenesis and evolution is outlined.

This article provides a spiritual understanding of our nature, which rests on five premises or postulates: (a) mesoderm is not a limiting skin but a layer that simultaneously creates space and connects (1); (b) mesoderm is the basis from which the notochord (made of three dimensional meso tissue) and the major structural components and organs of the inner body arise (2). As the notochord underlies and induces, or patterns the development of the CNS made of neuroectoderm (3; 4; 5; 6; 7; 8), the meso layer gives rise to primary and secondary aspects; (c) these different aspects or layers are associated with primary and secondary perceptual systems; (d) pulsation is the underlying core principle and property of universal existence, cosmic existence and local existence (Arka, in 9), and (e) in Its manifesting form, “the essential nature of the Lord is perpetual spanda (creative pulsation)…or creative power (10, p.10). Here, the ‘Lord’ is also described as Spirit, or Conscious Spirit, of which each living entity is an expression.
Building on the first three premises presented previously (11), here I suggest that as
mesoderm creates space and connects and the pulsating heart produces rhythm or waves, together they may form a spatiotemporal foundation from which the body of the embryo unfolds in time measured in 60 heart pulsations or seconds per minute. This development probably creates a dynamic, interconnected inner universe where there is a possible correlational and/or developmental relationship “between systems, layers,

Background: This paper is based on the results obtained from a research program which showed that training in the heart-based Intuitive Meditation (IM) method brought about a significant shift towards more feeling based consciousness. This data was obtained from a pre-post test design measuring changes in scores on the Feeling Consciousness Scale (FCS). The post-test scale also included several open-ended questions. Objectives: Among other aims, the objectives of the present paper are to compare the traits obtained from the open questions to the scale items in order to refine the scale where necessary and to learn more about the quality of feeling-based consciousness; for instance, to compare the scale item “I feel peace inside” with the open answers. Method: The method consisted of a comparison of answers from the open questions with the scale items. Results: An overlap was found between many of the scale items and traits derived from the open answers. The scale item “I feel peace ...

The importance of the body is enormous; it is our physical reality. So maybe it is about time we recognize not only that "there is no human function which does not involve both the brain and social context" [1], but also that there is certainly no human function that does not also involve our bodies and all that this implies. And we may well ask what in fact does this imply? Science in general has been interested in a world "out there". However, largely due to quantum physics, consciousness, awareness, inner experiencing and human perception are now being taken seriously in many fields of study such as transpersonal psychology, anthropology, and neuroscience. Even new disciplines like consciousness studies and electronic biology are being created. Psychology, in its endeavor to be recognized as a science, has largely made an object of its field of interest by looking at the human being in a mechanical way. Psychology too, almost by definition, has concerned itsel...

Using scales and the analysis of shared phenomenological experiences, our chief aim in this investigation is to record what happens when practitioners start meditating on their Self via their hearts using the Arka Dhyana Intuitive Meditation method (IM). This yogic-based practice involves a journey from the thinking mind to the emotional heart to pure consciousness. Thirty-one participants divided into three groups attended a five-session online introductory IM workshop. The participants filled in the Resilience Scale (RS), Spirituality Scale (SS), and the revised Feeling Consciousness Scale (FCS), which included two open questions providing qualitative data. Quantitative findings indicated significant increases in RR, SS, and FCS. The highly significant quantitative results provide meaningful support for the hypothesis that the IM method is associated with transformative changes after learning IM. The qualitative data support and expand on these findings. This study is relevant to ...

In this article, I go beyond health and contemplate the Indian Yogic concept of wellbeing against the changing influences of different spiritual traditions in my life. I finally come full circle and consider what Indian metaphysical tradition best fits and throws light on Jesus’s affirmations “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind” and: “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself “(Matthew 22:37-39); proclamations that have fascinated me since my childhood. The inquiry into these statements is a pointer to how we can live a most meaningful yogic life in full clarity and respect concerning all that exists around us.

If we want to understand some of the requisites for mental health, we first have to know what we mean by mental, which is related to the term mind. For this, we need to explore the topographical nature of consciousness from the 'inside-out' position. Only by doing this, can we begin to understand the nature of consciousness and the different levels of mind. The exploration of our inherent nature is a natural art where we use our will to direct the cursor awareness of our surface mind into the inner, deeper realms of their being. For people who have forgotten how to do this, certain somatic focusing heart-based methods of meditation may assist them. As the deeper levels of consciousness below our thinking mind, are linked with sensations, feelings, and emotions, it is important to learn more about them, especially as many mental health disorders are linked with emotions, including those related to violence. When an emotion such as anger has become part of our repressed shadow...

Based on the Arka's theory of the six main levels of consciousness, this study predicted that people would show a trend towards a more Feeling-Mind heart-based consciousness after being trained to go below their thinking mind. In order to test this, a scale was constructed under the name of the Feeling Consciousness Scale (FCS). The scale items were based on Arka´s work and information derived from interviews with people who had practiced the Intuitive Meditation (IM) method for more than 7 months. Using a repeated measures design, the FCS was filled in by 8 male and 23 female participants comprising of five different groups, before and after attending five Intuitive Meditation training sessions spread over 6 weeks (a total of 13.5 hours). A significant difference at the .001 level was found between both scores. Due to the small sample size and that the scale is a project in development, these results are tentative. This research supports the third level of Arka´s theory and sug...

Consciousness has scientists baffled, and the search to understand it has been described as the Holy Grail of science. However, the hypothesis that different levels of Consciousness, which can be encountered through phenomenological introspection, might be correlated with different layers of our anatomical development, which unfolds in gradational degrees, offers a new way of looking at our body, our mind, our nature, and Consciousness. Here Pure Consciousness is considered a non-physical intelligence that gives rise to life, expresses itself through all forms, prompts our anatomical development, and in humans, manifests itself through a by-product called ‘mind’ comprising of several levels. As we are part of this intelligence, we can explore the deeper levels of our consciousness using the cursor of our mind. The search for the deeper Self is consistent with the phenomenological perspective used by somatic heart-based meditation methods, as opposed to the modern Western phenomenolo...

Flowers come in many colors, many sizes and many forms and express themselves in different ways. Yet they are all flowers and together they form a most beautiful bouquet! Humans too come in all sizes, shapes and colors, yet they are still humans. Humans also express themselves in different ways, religiously, culturally and individually. The question is how can we form a beautiful bouquet? This involves a deep respect for differences on the one hand, and on the other, it involves a sincere search for ‘that’ what underlies all of us.

In this paper, I consider Paleolithic women's spirituality as expressed through various aspects of their artwork found in the caves of Spain and the ‘Venus figurines and suggest these icons may be seen as an attempt by some of early these women artists to translate their own inner experiences and insights cataphatically, and thereby reconcile the tension between the image-less I experience ineffable transcendence using didactic expression grounded in images. This method was used later by the Spanish mystic Santa Teresa, who clearly felt the mystery needs to be related to personally; it is not an abstract mystery, but a mystery that is alive, that vibrates through us and is what animates every cell in our body; we are an embodiment of this living mystery. Whereas in the 16 Century it was normal for Teressa to consider the mystery as God, it was most likely customary for Paleolithic women to think of the mystery as the Universal or Great Mother, an insight some of them probably ar...

An introductory course of Arka Dhyana, also known as Intuitive Meditation (IM), consisting of five sessions, was offered to an international audience via Zoom technology. Participants were shown how to connect to their deeper self, essence or soul by bringing their I-ego-awareness from the thinking mind, often associated with the frontal part of the brain, to 19 energetic stations in the body including the heart centre. In this limited study, evaluation was both process and outcome orientated and included HeartMath (HM) Inner Balance or emWave2 electronic technology to measure mean coherence and achievement before and after each session. A highly significant increase in both coherence and achievement in six participants was found, which was also reflected in a reported increase in wellbeing related to feelings in qualitative statements indicating changes in levels of consciousness and individual transformative experiences as predicted by the Theory of the Six Main Levels of Consciou...

In this paper I adopt a multidisciplinary perspective and the main aim is to increase our understanding of consciousness and to give us an overall view of this multifaceted term. I distinguish between the outside-in and inside-out methodological approach to the study of consciousness and I qualify what I mean by these two terms. The outside-in approach, including the neuroscientific method involving the study and mapping of the brain and psychological approach, which is based on observations of patients in psychotherapy, leads to theories based mainly on our senses or extensions of them and inductive and deduction reasoning. The phenomenological inside-out approach where people study the nature of their own consciousness, involves going below or above the thinking mind guided by intuition. This gives rise to theories based on intuitive insight and experience. Among other things, how different cultures view consciousness is also considered and I point out that whatever metaphysical p...

The traditional way of understanding existence is through science in the West and inner investigation in the East. However, here I propose that our embryological past can give us clues about our nature, and the two main ways of obtaining information about the world, which I associate with the Male and the Female Principle, linked respectively with secondary and primary perception systems. In identifying a primary perception system and hypothesizing how it works, I am taking speculation about it out of the domain of philosophy and into the realm of testable science. I also submit that when we recognize these different ways of perceiving the world as part of Nature’s play, we can investigate through our own being how we can balance them to bring peace and harmony to ourselves and society.

Key Words: male principle; female principle; Nature; perception; embryological

In an experimental evaluation of an introductory Arka Dhyana (Intuitive Meditation) course, HeartMath (HM) Inner Balance or emWave2 electronic technology showed highly significant increases in both coherence and achievement in six participants who learned how to change their level of consciousness as proposed by the Theory of the Six Main Levels of Consciousness. During the course, which was offered to an international audience via Zoom technology, participants intended to connect with their deeper self, being, or essence, by bringing their I-ego-awareness from the thinking mind, often associated with the frontal part of the brain, to 19 energetic stations in the body including the heart centre. Considering the results from the HeartMath Coherence Model viewpoint, it seems this intended shift leads to cardiovascular phase synchronicity and interconnection of various bodily subsystems, which is also comprehensible based on our bodily development during embryogenesis. The main body of the paper leads to the insight that there might be a correla-tional and/or developmental relationship between systems, layers, structures, levels of consciousness and Freud's model of the mind. It rests on three premises or postulates: 1) mesoderm might provide the key to the organic basis of Freud's topographical and structural models, both of which involve primary and secondary systems; 2) mesoderm is not a limiting skin, but a layer that simultaneously creates space and connects: 3) as it gives rise to the major structural components and organs of the inner body including the notochord (made of three-dimensional meso tissue) which underlies and promotes the development of the CNS made of neuroectoderm, mesoderm also involves primary and secondary aspects. In this paper, the possible links between these aspects are explored. As the activities, contents, and history related to the meso layer predate temporal reasoning associated with the prefrontal cortex, our contact with this deeper layer is either direct through feeling and sensation , which predate verbal thought, or indirect using free association and dreams. This perspective also throws light on Freud's agents of the psyche or soul, where the ego is the chief protagonist and whose actions and decisions are affected by unconscious processes. Resistance to accessing this inner "un-conscious" layer is probably related to an early tendency in controlling the expression of emotional and instinctual behaviour.

If we want to understand some of the requisites for mental health, we first have to know what we mean by mental, which is related to the term mind. For this, we need to explore the topographical organization of consciousness from the 'inside-out' position. When an emotion such as anger has become part of our repressed shadow personality, it may erupt with very little provocation causing us to act in a violent way that is inappropriate to the situation. Shadow emotions can also be projected onto others, which may result in aggressive and violent acts against another or even a collective body of people. As such, learning about the different levels of consciousness, and how to bring our repressed emotions to the light by learning how to 'surf' the different bodily sensations that arise during meditation, warrant more scientific attention and investigation.

These different aspects are addressed in this paper.

For a new evolutionary step forward, this study suggests humans need to learn to live from the heart and not only the mind. Here I associate the mind with the Masculine Principle and thinking which with learning, develops into intellect. This is contrasted with intuition which I associate with the Female Principle and the deeper heart-mind. They are different epistemological ways of knowing which reflect different levels of consciousness of the Self where each way of knowing has a different origin, the surface mind and the deeper heart-mind. Each gender can tap into both ways of knowing but most mothers have easier access to intuitive knowing, especially when obtaining information about the wellbeing of their children and loved ones. Connecting with the deeper Self using heart-based meditation methods, leads to insights about the different levels of consciousness and awakens one's intuitive abilities. Although intuition is attracting attention in different scientific fields, the connection between the deeper Self and intuition still needs to be recognized and explored by modern-day science. Different reasons why intuition linked to the female principle has been systemically depreciated for over two thousand years is also explored including questioning the origin on which the Western Intellectual Tradition is said to stand. To create a more caring, creative society , I propose that we need to resuscitate the female principle linked to intuition by reconnecting with our feeling heart-mind. Nevertheless, I advocate that we need both ways of knowing to unfold our full potential. This analysis has multiple implications which I address in the discussion.

Far from offering a tentative structured theory or solution regarding the urgently needed reforms concerning education in the 21 st century, we limit ourselves to some punctual considerations of how education can prepare students for the future. Even if they are not directly connected, we hope they may help in creating the indispensable radical paradigm shift in the way we teach and learn, which is needed to meet the multi-dimensional challenges confronting global society in the 21 st century. They involve the following points: an attitudinal change from memorizing to understanding; openness to the internet requirements of the present 4 th Industrial Revolution; and developing a connection to Nature and our inner Self or essence, so students can get guidance in their lives and also to help find solutions for the many problems humanity faces today.

Session 1. Religions in dialogue a b s t r a c t Throughout the ages, people of all creeds, backgrounds, and cultures have dedicated their lives to search for a higher reality where the visionary experience of Cosmic Consciousness brought about through mystical union, is part of an inner process which may lead to enlightenment. Traditions in India hold that this urge to find the truth involves awakening kundalini energy. In its dormant state, this serpent energy is said to lie coiled up at the base of the spine. In search of a biological basis of the religious impulse, we look at early embryonic human development, which is seen as being guided by higher cosmic forces. On approximately day 30-33, the human embryo begins to grow a tail, which then disappears. The corresponding development of the heart during this phase resembles that of reptiles. Linking the time lapse between the formation and absorption of the tail with an increase in voltage between the tail and the head suggests that on intake, the increase in charge could result in the potential at the base of the spine where it lies dormant until used either for procreation or reverse itself up to join the cosmic source from which it originated. To further our understanding of kundalini energy and its connection to light, we also consider these terms from various perspectives, including quantum physics.

We also know that inscribed on the forecourt temple of Apollo was the maxim "Know Thyself".

Abstract The theory of the Six Main Levels of Consciousness of the philosopher Arka, is an analysis of the main levels a practitioner will go through when he or she undertakes the inner journey of Self-discovery using a heart-based meditation method such as the Intuitive Meditation (IM) method. It opens science to a new way of understanding and researching consciousness for it permits phenomenological experiences associated with the different levels, to be researched using different methods including the scientific method. As it addresses the experiencing aspect of consciousness, it cuts through the dilemma posed by Chalmers, which he terms the "hard problem of consciousness". In addition, by recognizing the thinking Mind (often associated with the brain) as the first level, it helps incorporate the work already undertaken by many scientists. The levels mentioned by Arka are: 1) M (Mind) – Consciousness, 2) SM (Subliminal-Mind) – Consciousness, 3) F (Feeling-Mind) – Consciousness, 4) H (Emotional-Heart) – Consciousness, 5) HS (Heart-Soul) – Consciousness and 6) PS (Pure-Self) – Consciousness. In a recent study using a repeated measures design, it was found that participants showed a significant shift towards a more feeling-based consciousness after learning the Intuitive Meditation Method and practicing it a minimum of five times over a 6-week period as measured by the same Feeling Consciousness Scale. This gives support to the third Feeling Mind level of consciousness Arka mentions in his theory. As the role of the heart is said to play a key role in this theory, in this article we present information regarding the heart, embryonic development and pulsation to understand more about the relevance of the heart and why it has been used as a center of attention in meditation practices throughout the ages. Embryogenesis also poses interesting but difficult questions, which, as yet, Western Science has not addressed. It also stimulates the enquiry into the nature of "consciousness" and the fundamental question: Who are we?

This research supports the third level of Arka´s theory and suggests that we have a level of consciousness associated with the heart which is characterized by certain traits such as intuition, unity, peace, positivity, awareness of emotions, and connection to one's inner Self, sometimes expressed as soul, inner being, or atman. The drawings by one participant after each intuitive meditation session indicate that the inner journey of Self-discovery is a process. In suggesting other levels of consciousness including a feeling based experiencing consciousness associated with the heart, Arka's theory might also offer a solution to what Chalmers calls the hard problem of consciousness. The other levels of Arka's theory still need to be researched.

Background: This paper is based on the results obtained from a research program which showed that training in the heart-based Intuitive Meditation (IM) method brought about a significant shift towards a more feeling based consciousness. The data was obtained from a pre-post test design measuring changes in scores on the Feeling Consciousness Scale (FCS). The post-test scale also included several open-ended questions.
Objectives: Among other aims, the objectives of the present paper are to compare the traits obtained from the open questions to the scale items in order to refine the scale where necessary and to learn more about the quality of feeling based consciousness; for instance, to compare the scale item "I feel peace inside" with the open answers.
Method: The method consisted of a comparison of answers from the open questions with the scale items.
Results: An overlap was found between many of the scale items and traits derived from the open answers. The scale item "I feel peace inside" and the open answers of 36% of the participants suggest that peace might be an inner experience related to feeling.
Conclusions: The comparison throws more light on the quality of the inner experience of participants after learning IM. It also suggests that peace is an inner experience related to feeling. This has many implications, especially to people who try to create or impose peace on others through military or forceful means. Further research is suggested, as the sample size was small, especially with respect to gender.

Abstract: The importance of the body is enormous; it is our physical reality. Psychology too, almost by definition, has concerned itself mainly with certain aspects, namely the mind (usually associated with the brain), neurological processes and behavior and it has therefore neglected the body. The phenomenological method, as an additional way of gaining information through introspection, will also briefly be discussed here In this essay the effect of our thoughts when naming an emotion such as anger and fear on our bodies will be considered. In addition the "living matrix" model, which owes its origin to quantum mechanics and electronic biology, will be presented as a new complementary way of understanding how the living organism functions. The basic tenets of the quantum reality will also be presented.

This ninetieth issue of DIALOGO (2024) is dedicated to the multi-theme “Discrimination, Bias, and Repudiation,” addressing an [unfortunately, ongoing] actual and critically relevant issue. The focus is on human biases in contemporary society, encompassing discriminatory behaviors, actions, and legislation, particularly amid global crises, local conflicts, and increasing wars. These challenges often diverge from universal human
values. By advocating for merciful human coexistence, DIALOGO collates various articles assessing conflict and societal responses to these pervasive behaviors. We start our endeavor with the inquiry, “How do discrimination, bias, and repudiation manifest across different societal, psychological, and cultural contexts, and what strategies can be employed to mitigate these pervasive human behaviors effectively?”

In this chapter, I suggest that when the masculine principle represented by the logical, rational thinking mind becomes overextended, it creates a lack of harmony both inside and outside which is reflected by a society which has become over mechanized, over-politicized, over militarized and where the corporate world operates purely for profit. To re-establish balance, I hold we need to restore the female principle as, without it, there is no caring, relatedness, and concern about nature. This requires we change our focus from outside to inside and from our thinking mind to our feeling heart-mind so we can receive intuitive guidance that is based on inclusiveness and the best interests of all, and not only on profit.

In this chapter, the spiritual, experimental consciousness of children, identified to as ‘relational consciousness’ by Hay, is outlined and contrasted with the developmental theory of Fowler who suggests children’s spirituality must advance through literalist and conventional stages that necessitate identifying with one belief system. These different theories posit radically different views; in Hay’s, experience is the most important way of supporting spiritual growth, whereas Fowler suggests it is belief that advances it. By referring to the literal translation from the Greek of the text of Matthew, it seems Jesus supports Hay’s view. Preliterate cultures, like little children, probably experience a relational consciousness, which has been undermined by dominating literate cultures who have belittled their spiritual perspective. It is probable this way of perceiving the world is compromised relatively early in our lives, as reflected by changes in the ventromedial areas of the prefrontal cortex. The control of emotional and instinctual behaviours linked with this area might be influenced by the disapproval of certain comportments by others. Tailoring our behaviour towards the achievement of RELATIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS: JESUS, ‘LITTLE’ CHILDREN... 1 2 SPIRITUALITY AND THE CORPORATE WORLD exterior goals to win the approval of significant others might result in the ‘selling of our soul’, including our primary way of knowing and seeing the world. Following Hay, it is suggested that a spiritual, experimental consciousness can help counter Western individualism, which is fundamental to the workings of the marketplace on which Corporate activities are based. Acknowledging the inherent spiritual relatedness of humans with Nature, and other forms of Life, can also provide Corporates with a new way of looking at themselves, their role in society, and encourage a paradigm shift in their business model to include a relational, spiritual perspective where the interconnectedness of all living beings is acknowledged and respected.

In this article, I look at the Western Educational system within the mark of cultural diversity and violence. To understand the socializing role of the Western Educational system from this perspective I also look at its roots in the Ancient Greek concept of Paideia and suggest the emphasis of Western education on the cultivation of the mind to achieve intellectual excellence is related to this term. Although at one time the development of the mind was evolutionary whether its’ training was undertaken in the service of the ideal and the common good linked to the State or the soul and divine as suggested by Plato, it has become overextended in modern-day society and we have lost touch with our feeling heart-mind, a deeper level of consciousness. Living from the heart is related to caring, feeling, empathy, intuition and creativity. To transform the Western educational system, I suggest we need to include the investigation of the nature of our consciousness which incorporates the role of the feeling heart. This training bypasses cultural differences as it connects with the spiritual underpinning of all humanity regardless of their religion, culture, gender or background. I suggest this would make the Western educational system more universal and also provide a new evolutionary step forward for humankind.

Introduction In this presentation I look for the basis of our present education system as I feel if we do not do this sort of deep analysis, we will always be doing patchwork to the educational system rather than addressing the very root of the problem. It is not in events that I look for my evidence, but in how events are linked to myths, which are then perpetuated in time to affect the minds and hearts of humans. When one system replaces another it is normal to replace the prevailing stories or myths of the conquered people with new ones, which then produce a new way forward. In the analysis, I propose that when patriarchal societies replaced matriarchal societies they used myths to facilitate the transition. I suggest it is these ancient myths that have led to a systematic depreciation of the Female Principle and intuitive awareness, which is the basis of Intuitive Intelligence.

Man has always faced danger. So do animals in the wild. However the pattern of how they deal with danger is very different. Modern day man possesses a huge arsenal of many varied weapons. But has this brought the security man is looking for? Based on scientific data, we question the validity of the belief that security is linked to defense. We also consider some different definitions of security as well as suggesting ways of finding it through therapy and meditation. Derived from Superstring Theory, the idea of different dimensions of reality is contemplated to see how it might lead to a deeper understanding of how people perceive the world. To supplement this, the theory of projection, as used by depth psychologists, traditional societies and quantum physics, is also considered. If the attributes we see in others are just projections of our own unacknowledged qualities and emotions as suggested by these different traditions, then the search for security based on the proliferation of arms is also a mirage and a contradiction in terms. Security then can only be attained though embarking on an inner journey to find out who we really are. This includes expanding our perception, working with our shadow, facing our inner fears and anxieties and learning to use the verb to be in a more conscious way.

Key words: security, defense, perception, projection, inner journey.

Three Manifestos lay out the objectives of the Humanist Association, describing it as a religion that is supposed to replace other older deity-based religions. Its progressive philosophy of life without theism or other supernational beliefs leads to a break with the past and affirms humans’ “ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good.” Nevertheless, can we live ethical lives where the accent is on fulfilling only our personal desires, which include the right to un...
Transhumanism rests on the idea that humans should embrace self-directed human evolution using technology to transcend their current natural state and limitations, ie disease, ageing, and even death.
