The story was great. I did not expect it to end the way it did.

Thanks for playing, and also for the feedback. The camera follows the player with some smoothing, so it kind of follows the player. Do you want the camera to be fixed on the player without any smoothing?

I planned to add 3D models, but I did not manage to do it before the deadline.

Response to the question about the monster. It might spoil the fight with it a bit. The monster will die on the 10th hit, but if you die, the health of it resets.

Nice game. Is it intentional that the walls can be replaced for 0 cost during the fight? There is also a bug: The 'next day' button stays invisible after losing a game and then clicking the play button.

The web build of my game is pretty laggy so I would advise you to try the windows/linux version. Please give it a try: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2970870

Nice game. The art is great. It is possible to leave the map by going all the way left from the start.

Good game. Here is some feedack: the remaining health of red monsters was hard to read because they have thin legs.

The game is fun. The diffuculty is well set. However, the third character had terrible cards.

Unfortunately, I ran into a bug. I got a 'Runtime error: memory access out of bounds' at the beginning of the level with the storm things (dialog mentioned moving away from something) when the decks where being shuffled or just right after it. In the browser console was the following message: 'Could not allocate memory: System out of memory!'. I did not copy the seed before playing, so I can't share it.

Good game. I liked that it was possible to increase the game's difficulty by recruiting more sheep instead of dogs.

It is impressive that you developed your own drawing tool.  Such a cool way to add a unique character to your art. Thanks for sharing.

Great game. I just wish I had more time to get more upgrades.

The game looks good, and everything is well animated. The controls could be improved.

The game works, but it is quite bland. There is no interesting mechanic that would distinguish this game from other similar games.

Maybe not. The rules say:

'Game files are not locked so if you discover a major issue with your game file it is possible to change this afterwards, just make sure you make a submission before the deadline. This is only for game-breaking issues, don't use this feature to otherwise update your game before the rating period is over.'

I am not sure if this falls under that case since I am not the organizer. I leave the interpretation of the rules up to the developer.

The art is great. The fishing minigame is interesting but it sometimes feel unfair. I also could not move after catching all the fish at the first fishing spot. Is it supposed to happen?

It is unfortunate that you weren't able to finish the game. Nice try though. I wasn't able to craft an axe or a fishing rod. Are they in the game?

The jumping feels weird because it slows the player down.

For others that would like to try the game but can't read the controls menu because it is partially obscured: I worked the controls out by trial end error. You have to press left click about 50 times to destroy a tree or a rock. It takes less clicks for smaller things. Then you can pick up the drops with E. To place the crafting bench you need to drag it into the slot with your hand, right click, left click, and finally press E to craft.

Awesome game. The animations were so cool and the puzzles were great too. My only complaint is that the last one was too easy :D

Edit: What tool did you use to create the art?

I am amazed that you managed to create so much in the 7 days. The sheat animation of lesser shinobi is cool. The crafting was not really useful since the best items came from treasure chests. I had fun, but I didn't spot the boss.

The plot is interesting. The enemies are buggy. They turn around quickly and do not attack when near the player. Is there a way to get coins or was that not implemented?

I liked the typing part with the phone calls that try to distract you. The UI with the ongoing tasks is great. The difficulty could be adjusted a bit. I never got above 25%.

The game works, but it has room for improvement. The text on the cards is hard to read. The choice of making the game too easy between the boss spawns was not great from a player perspective. I had to endure ten minutes of boring gameplay to get to a more exciting part (boss).

The player sprite, player animations and environment look good. Consider respawning the player back at the campfire. I don't want to walk there and back again every time. The fishing stops being fun after 5th death.

If the sign is the thing that's incompatible with controller input, you might be able to fix it by calling grab_focus() on one of the buttons.

The game page is top-notch. The frogs are cute. The only thing that is lacking is the gameplay. The game needs more creative game mechanics.

Good game. The attack and hurt animations look nice. But there is nothing to stop me from spamming attack and eat buttons and running around the map. Also, after collecting 30+ of each fruit there was nothing challenging to do anymore. Maybe a boss could fill the void.

Cool game. I had fun until I got to round 23. Then it became too monotonous.  I was just clicking LMB and replacing the box for 250.

Great game. However, I think it is missing an ending. The game just ends, and the number of plants alive makes no difference.

The art looks nice.

I also got an Uncaught RuntimeError: memory access out of bounds. It happened during the second round of a 2 v 3 battle. My bugs were about to die. Web build.

I am not sure how it works in other versions of Godot, but there is a 'Loop mode' option in the import tab in Godot 3.5. Then you have to reimport the asset. Have tried that?

After picking up the plan, my character still says that it does not have them when I try to leave the corridor. After leaving the corridor, the ship does not dock. Is there another step in between?

Yep, I didn't notice that the bars on the bottom right belonged to the bases.

Thanks for the detailed response. But could you go into even more detail about why was the shark fight not engaging enough?

Actually, there is a health bar. The color of the ships roof changes from green to red. But i do not blame you for not noticing it.

Awesome game.

I tried to finish this game, but I am not sure I can. After I pick up the plan, it says disguise unlocked. But it won't appear in my inventory. Is it a bug or am I missing something?

By the way the soundtrack is great. It is unfortunate that it stops after a while.

The art is great. You could try making an animated movie or a comic book.

Things that could be improved:

  • UI scaling is nonexistent.
  • No soundtrack plays in the office. Is it intentional though?
  • It is possible to interact with some object multiple times, but it does not do anything. Do you have duplicate code?
  • The status bars are practically pointless because they did not get below 75%.

The visuals are great. The main menu soundtrack is great, but I didn'tlike the gameplay one. Pressing the escape should also close the pause menu.

Cool twist. Such a shame the game is not finished. Next,  sprites look good.

Some tips:

  • If it is not intentional that the player moves faster diagonally, normalize the movement vector before multiplying it by velocity.
  • You could replace the invisible walls with something like trees or fences.

Thanks for playing the game and the feedback. I wanted to encourage exploration, but I might have missed the mark and made it too difficult. The lack of recognizable landmarks could've contributed to it too. Due to time constraints the islands are just a bunch of blocks.

Is this game infinite? I destroyed all the enemy walls, but I couldn't go any further.

There is not enough strategy involved because there are too many resources. The majority of the gameplay consists of holding left click and spamming space. Little to no strategy and little to no fun.

I might be a bit harsh but I expect more fun from a purely 'game design and fun' oriented game. Please include a bit more creativity in future games.

Really minor things:

  • chests can spawn outside of bounds
  • I think a camera with a fixed vertical axis would suit the game a bit more

Edit: The main menu screen looks great.

The game is fun. I had a great time playing it. The downside is that there is no sound. Do the cars move randomly or is there a little bit more going on?

5 collisions and 134 seconds

It is alright. The game is a bit too simple for my liking, but you were able to finish it on time. Congratulations.

I played the web version, and from visual clues alone I couldn't tell that I was supposed to head home after the flood.

The soundtrack is good. The camera cuts are annoying because I couldn't see where I was jumping.

I made the last jump before pressing the button by glitching into the spikes on the left. How is it possible to make that jump without a glitch?
