You are completely right. Coyote time is the seconds from a ledge that you still can jump - there is also another one that i'd have liked to implement called jump buffering - that's when you want to jump continuously, so the game considers your jump button press even when you're still on the air (a few miliseconds before touching the ground from a previous jump).
Those are two things that I already set on learning how to implement efficiently to have under my belt for whenever I want/need to build another platformer.
Thanks a lot for reviewing! And the feedback for the transitions between abilites is completely on point here.
Thank you also for the kind words! It means a lot.

Congratulations! Fantastic take on the theme with the shadow mechanic - I loved the use with the different puzzles (the fireflies part was super nice). I really liked the sense of urgency at the end.
My only constructive take would be to try and change the camera on the shadow form to take the character more on the center of the screen, for example on the fireflies part it would've made it a bit more approachable given that you would be able to see where the ending ledge is.
Other than that, I loved it and wanted to play more. Keep it up!
And again, congrats on the submission!
Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback! It's super valuable to me. I see your point with the inputs and the speed - I feel this highlights what other feedback has also raised, that I should've playtested this and try to get other people to test it. So it's a big learning for me on future attempts: save some time and get other people to test your game!
I love first person dungeon crawlers, and I really like the alchemy approach - but I agree that the game does not let you think at all. You start getting bludgeoned to death by the first enemy, once you kill it you go straight to the next - I could not check the alchemy features with attention because I did not want to die.
I managed to cook some health potions but the second mushroom just kept regenerating and killed me.
Good approach! Keep it up!
Nice concept! I survived for almost 5 minutes before i got swarmed by the creepy hands. One thing (perhaps is on my end) - i had a bug when trying to throw ingredients or wood with the character facing right. The ingredients flew straight left. This made it a bit hard to keep up with the dynamic.
Other than that, really cool application of theme :D keep it up!
Congrats!
EDIT: I just read in the comments about the mouse - aiming feature - sorry i raised it as a bug! Should've read the instructions first
I really liked it :) nice little platforming action. I liked the wall climbing mechanic as well.
One thing: I went through the game and then saw your description: I completely missed the dash power on my first run. Good thing is not super mandatory!
Congratulations on the submission! Keep up the good work!
I can totally agree that sound is the least taken care aspect - I'm no expert around sound and i rushed stuff around it. That being said - I did not add sound for the text at the beginning... that sounds weird. Can I ask you what OS and browser? So I can playtest and learn from it :)
Thanks a lot for taking the time of playing and leaving a comment!
Thanks a lot for reviewing! I agree, in hindsight the one-at-a-time constraint seems too harsh. I feel like this highlights more than nothing that my game lacks a lot of playtesting.
I truly appreciate your time testing it and the review. I'll keep learning from all of this.
All the best!!
EDIT: sorry, I answered from bed kinda sleepy - one quick comment: the "cover" ability depends on keeping the C button pressed. That's perhaps why it's not working or turning on and off... sorry, probably another design flaw 😓
Thanks again for playing and reviewing.
Beautiful work. From the art, to the music, to the playability (I developed some serious speedrun vibes in some parts, which I love in a platformer).
I also liked how some of the features sometimes worked in our advantage and sometimes not, like the springs and the potion of explosion.
Congratulations!
To whom it may concern in the Brotherhood: I hope this message finds you well. After achieving world domination for the Brotherhood of the Flame, I must confess that I feel the need to abandon the Brotherhood to join another must supreme one... The Goofy Guys. We'll take over the world!
Congratulations on an amazing work! I really enjoyed playing it - and I have not played Papers Please so now I'll add it to my list!
Amazing submission! Really liked the approach to transmuting by cards and the little puzzle side of trying to think the order to use them.
I agree that the only downside is that is a bit cumbersome to equip cards, but once you get accustomed to it it's not that big of a deal.
If you have the time I'd really appreciate if you give a try to my submission to the Jam! https://morrigames.itch.io/nature-dash
All the best!
