You did really well for a first game. The mechanics seemed well thought-out, the core concept was fun, and I liked the interpretation of the theme. However, it was a bit difficult to figure out how stuff worked at first, but once I figured it out, it was great. The background was also a bit strange, but I'm sure you already know that. Overall, however, this is a great game. If you have time, I would really like to see a completed version of this sometime in the future. 

This game is really great and polished for the short time you had! I could definitely see this being expanded to a full metroidvania-style game. Keep up the good work

Really great game, super polished and great lantern mechanic. Difficulty was well-tuned too. I just wish it was longer, but that's the limitations of a game jam. Hope you continue to work on this!
