by Peter Connolly. This book discuss about various kinds of approaches to the study of religion, such as anthropology approach, sociology approach, also philosophy approach, etc.

This study examines the policy of premarital course in Indonesia and Malaysia. The premarital course aims to equip the bride and groom with the knowledge and skills of making good family besides attempting to reduce the high rate of divorces in both countries. Premarital course conducted by BP4 Institutions in Indonesia and JAKIM in Malaysia applied different approaches and policies. This study tries to elaborate pre-marital course in Indonesia and Malaysia by examining policies and substantial issues. The data was collected through library research, examining regulations and rules applied in both countries. This study showed that the procedure and mechanism of premarital course in Indonesia and Malaysia were different. Premarital course in Malaysia is mandatory and one of the requirements of marriage registration document whereas in Indonesia is voluntary. Both countries, however, applied a similarity approach and strategy in delivering course materials.

The study aims to analyze the interaction of Islamic family law and customary law in Java's Muslim society. The method used a field research method. The approach used in conducting the problem of this research is the anthropology. Java has many cultures, especially in the field of marriage, one of them pepali nikah. It is uncommon for the culture to sometime be mystical and as though contrary to Islamic law and much research stoped in conclusion if there is customary law to be in contradiction with Islamic law than customary law should leave out. Therefore as soon as possible customary law will eliminate from its position. The result of the research shows that there is harmonization of Islamic and customary law. There are some Islamic values in this tradition. Both of them have the same goal of forming a sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah family though in different ways.
