This paper was about analyses of the principals’ effectiveness on school performance and how principals play a major role to make the school do well in terms of academic results. Furthermore, the paper discussed why it is important to have good leaders (principals) in schools who are able to contribute to the school’s effectiveness in terms of school performance. The mixed-method was employed in this study as both descriptive and statistical data were used. In addition, the study included 30 participants who comprised both principals and teachers. The results revealed that the majority of teachers disagreed that their principals are not highly effective while some principals seem not to be well acquainted with the knowledge of the effectiveness of principals’ roles.

The main focus of this paper is to analyse professional development for school leadership in the Ohangwena region of Namibia. The study explores leadership, professional development, school leadership, school performance and educational leadership associated with quality for schools’ targeted performance in the region under study. Schools in the said region were assessed for their need of good professional development skills to ascertain whether professionals are able to handle others diligently in their operations. School leaders with over sighted leadership skills were issues that were viewed as crucial in order to improve schools performance. Finally, the paper examines the need for proper leadership professional development training that is vital in improving on the domains of supervision, delegation and control of subordinates in an educational sector for improving academic performance.

This study explored how Namibia's public sector management is impacted by information and communication technologies (ICT). Information technology is currently undergoing significant change, beginning with the impact it is having on public sector employees' attendance at training sessions so they can learn new skills like using IT developments, gaining new knowledge, skills, and utilizing programs in various fields where more productive and profitable results are obtained. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the public sector, civil society, and international actors to work together to develop the policies and programs that will fully realize the potential of digital government for Namibia's public sector at all levels.
