In this study we evaluate the performance of targeted social protection transfers in the Dominican Republic for period 2005-2014, after the implementation of SIUBEN (targeting mechanism). We are able to find improvements in the progressivity and redistributive impact of the targeted transfers, yet we also identify key pending reforms for enhancing these impacts, both in terms of design (e.g. targeting mechanism) and implementation (e.g. size of the transfers).
