    Teaching students with LD requires an arduous effort from special education (SE) teachers. Mathematics may seem to be a difficult subject,however, students with learning disabilities (LD) face more challenges in learning the subject. Even though teachers’ knowledge has been widely studied, there is few research focusing on SE teachers who teach mathematics specifically. This systematic literature review attempts to critically present what kind of knowledge that SE teachers need to teach mathematics effectively. Nineteen papers were selected from Scopus as the leading database and few supporting databases such as Sage and Science Direct.     Statistical knowledge is important to students as they will need to apply it on their research or projects. Basically, every major specially major in education offered research methodology courses that will covered basic knowledge on statistics in terms of computation and statistical application. The purpose of this study is to determine the students' attitude towards statistics and statiscal anxiety among postgraduate students in faculty of education. There are 199 respondents involved in this study which consists of 45 males and 154 females students. Two sets of questionnaire, Survey of Attitude toward Statistics-36 (SATS-36) and Statistical Anxiety Rating Scale (STARS) were distributed among the students. Each of the questionnaire consists of 42 and 51 items respectively. Based on the findings, students' attitude and statistical anxiety were both at a moderate level.     Dyscalculia is one of the less well-known learning problems in mathematics due to lack of exposure and study. Children with dyscalculia usually face arithmetic and symbolic number comparison issues, with about 3-6 percent of individuals affected. The lack of wide-ranging study and inconsistency in the condition's characterizations through studies have impeded progress in identifying the root causes of dyscalculia and how best to handle it. This problem can be more serious because it can prolong up to adulthood. Therefore, this paper will discuss the general aspects related to dyscalculia problems and their effects on children in their lives. This paper also explains the signs and symptoms that are needed to understand children who may have dyscalculia.     Penjanaan masalah ialah salah satu aktiviti yang boleh diamalkan dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran matematik. Setakat ini, kajian berkait keupayaan dan kemahiran pelajar dalam menjana masalah matematik telah banyak dikaji. Kepelbagaian kajian-kajian tersebut menyebabkan perbezaan interpretasi dan kebimbangan terhadap pelaksanaan penjanaan masalah matematik. Oleh itu, kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti pelaksanaan penjanaan masalah dan perkaitannya dengan hasil pembelajaran matematik. Di samping itu, kajian ini turut melihat sejauh mana perbezaan sikap dan kesediaan pelajar terhadap perlaksanaan KBAT dalam matematik berdasarkan faktor jantina disamping melihat kewujudan hubungan sikap dan kesediaan terhadap perlaksanaan KBAT dengan prestasi matematik pelajar.     The aim of the study was to examine the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning Module on Geometry (D-Geometry Module) in improving reasoning skills, communication, and self-confidence in mathematics among secondary school students. The research design was a quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group with pre-test and post-test design, where 128 students were grouped according to gender and the group of the intervention as well as a traditional group. Mathematical reasoning skills, communication, and self-confidence instruments were administered towards the students involved. Two-way MANOVA analysis showed that there was a main effect of the grouping. The finding showed that the integration of learning theories and discovery learning in Geometry could improve students’ reasoning, mathematical communication, and self-confidence.     Objective of this paper is to report the outreach of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program in Malaysia conducted by UKM. The program involved school students in Selangor where they learned to use a program code called Arduino to control mini helicopters. Students were exposed on how to assemble simple circuit for control system and how the circuit was connected to a micro controller, which communicate with the computer. This equipped the students with basic knowledge in making the right program to move the helicopter. All learning activities were greatly assisted by university students through a teaching module. Moreover, the program was conducted in the form of competition and this helped to bring out the competitiveness within the students. As a result, students were able to garner new knowledge within a short span of time.

    Buku teks merupakan indikator terbaik dalam mengukur dan melatih kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi (KBAT) khususnya dalam mata pelajaran Matematik kerana ia menepati sukatan kurikulum yang seragam di semua sekolah. Kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara empirikal dan sistematik berkaitan aras kognitif yang digunakan dalam buku teks Matematik Tahun 4 KSSR Semakan 2017. Sebanyak 921 soalan di dalam buku teks telah dikelaskan mengikut kod aras kognitif yang ditentukan oleh Model Kod Analisis Aras Kognitif Soalan sebelum diproses dan dianalisis secara deskriptif statistik menggunakan program SPSS Version 23. Dapatan kajian mendapati bahawa buku teks Matematik Tahun 4 KSSR Semakan memiliki aras kognitif soalan yang sederhana dengan bilangan soalan yang dominan pada Tahap Inferensi.     STEM education planning aims to enhance the understanding of knowledge, encourage critical thinking, and encourage the realization of innovation in the teaching and learning process. The application of STEM education can ensure the better development of a country. This study aims to look at differences in STEM interest base on gender for secondary students. The design of the study conducted is quantitative. The participants involved were 150 students. The instrument used is 50 items. The results of the analysis found that there are differences in the value of STEM mean scores according to gender. Male students are more interested in technology and engineering subjects. While female students are more interested in science and mathematics. Upcoming studies need to conduct a study of STEM interest based on ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and relationship with these variables

    The present study is a continuation project of the UKM SIDπ outreach program that aims to provide a meaningful science learning for school students. Interactive activities were implemented in two phases to expose students on space science. At phase one, two hundred two students from four schools engaged in hands-on and minds-on activities while interacting with UKM scientists through space detective, mini solar system and habitat on the moon. Thirty students participated for the second phase where the two-day workshop was held to provide input on STEM and the UKM SIDπ project and installation. The phase two participants are presently collecting data using the SIDπ kits at the school. The feedback from phase one and workshop showed students enjoyed learning space science through the activities and majority willing to participate for the next program.

    Buku teks matematik merupakan medium penting dalam pelaksanaan kurikulum dan merealisasikan matlamat Pendidikan Matematik. Akan tetapi, kajian analisis ciri-ciri contoh dan latihan bagi topik penambahan dan penolakan dalam buku teks matematik SJKC berdasarkan aspek matematik dan kontekstual masih kurang. Analisis ini bertujuan mengenal pasti kelebihan dan kelemahan terhadap contoh dan latihan bagi topik penambahan dan penolakan dalam buku teks matematik dan diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran kepada penyelidik, penerbit dan penulis buku teks untuk proses penambahbaikan yang akan datang. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa terdapat sejumlah 74 (56%) contoh dan 57 (44%) latihan penambahan, manakala bilangan contoh dan latihan penolakan adalah sama, iaitu 59 (50%) masing-masing.     This longitudinal study was designed to examine how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) project-based learning (PBL) affected the success of high school women in comparison with high school men in mathematics and science, with English performance as a control. We analysed the four-year performance, course-taking, and retention of high school students (n = 186) in these three subjects in a school where STEM PBL was enacted. Students’ Texas state-mandated high-stakes test scores were collected. A repeated measures MANOVA was used for analysing changes in performance after infusing STEM PBL activities into their classes. The results indicated that there was a statistically significant change in scores for both men and women in mathematics and science; however, the attrition for women was much less than for men. We included implications for how to escalate women's performance and retention in STEM-based areas.

    Validity and reliability are crucial when conducting research to ensure the truthfulness of an instrument. This study investigated the measurement functioning of an instrument on students' awareness of space science. The instrument was administered to 206 secondary school students involved in the Sudden Ionospheric Disturbance π outreach program. Two experts evaluated the content validity of the instrument. Data were analyzed using the Winsteps 3.71.0.1 software to obtain the Rasch model analysis (RMA) on item reliability and persons' separation, item measure, item fit based on PTMEA CORR, polarity items, misfit items, unidimensionality, and a person-item map. The findings revealed that the items are valid, reliable, and appropriate to measure awareness of space science.

    This study conducted to determine the mathematics teacher’s self-efficacy of technology integration and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) based on gender and teaching experience. In this research, 66 mathematics teachers from national secondary schools were chosen as the samples to answer a survey questionnaire containing 71 items with a five-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistics, such as mean, percentage, and standard deviation, were employed to analyze the data. T-test was used to gauge the mathematics teacher’s self-efficacy of technology integration and TPACK based on gender, and one-way ANOVA was employed to determine mathematics teacher’s self-efficacy of technology integration and TPACK based on teaching experience.     Previous research has shown knowledge, perceptions, and attitudes are essential factors during mathematics classroom instruction. The current study examined the effects of a 3-week fraction instructional unit using concrete models, problem-solving, and problem-posing to improve elementary preservice teachers’ knowledge, perceptions and attitudes towards fractions. A quasi-experiment design was implemented to gather data via closed-ended, open-ended, and essay tasks from a convenience sampling of 71 female elementary preservice teachers during pre- and post-assessments. The study discovered that the select preservice teachers were weak in the content knowledge specifically on unit-whole, part-whole, equivalent area, arithmetic operations, and ordering fractional values.     The purpose of this study was to explore and to understand the daily life experiences of 8 women doctoral students who were in pursuit of their doctorates. A partially mixed concurrent dominant status design was utilized in this study embedded within a mixed methods phenomenological research lens and driven by a critical dialectical pluralistic philosophical stance. Specifically, these 8 students were interviewed individually to examine their lived experiences as doctoral students. The interview responses then were subjected to a sequential mixed analysis that was characterized by 2 qualitative analyses (i.e., constant comparison analysis, classical content analysis) and 1 quantitative analysis (i.e., correspondence analysis). The 2 qualitative analyses revealed the following 3 metathemes: adjustment (how these doctoral students made necessary accommodations with regard to all aspects of their lives), which comprised the themes of time management, interaction, belief, and lifestyle;...

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti kesilapan pelajar di sebuah kolej matrikulasi dalam topik Pilih Atur dan Gabungan. Seramai 83 orang pelajar yang terdiri daripada 46 orang pelajar aliran modul I, 23 orang pelajar aliran modul II dan 14 orang pelajar aliran modul III Program Dua Tahun terlibat dalam kajian ini. Instrumen adalah ujian diagnostik Pilih Atur dan Gabungan. Jenis kesalahan yang dihadapi oleh pelajar diklasifikasikan berdasarkan kesilapan masalah Kombinatorik oleh Carmen Batanero.
