Several different aircraft have been used in aviation search and rescue mission. The use of the aircraft in such mission has been mostly for common purpose of scouring the sea or land to identify and locate the victims. In addition, they are also utilized for rescue mission with some specialized equipment onboard. This study aims to identify the myriad of aircraft that have been used in the aviation search and rescue mission, and perform the simplistic analysis on their common and uncommon denominators. Based on the results, it has been established that these aircraft often have a small capacity and perimeter coverage, with low flight pace and rate of climb performance capabilities.

The Helicopter Guimbal Cabri G2 is a helicopter that is usually used for training and recreational activities. The Cabri G2 is agile and easy to handle. In this paper the author had collected data of incidents and accidents of Cabri G2 and analyses were performed upon these data. The author focused upon the incidents and accidents that were due to the faults of pilots. The results of these analyses were discussed and concluded.

Helicopters play important roles in transporting people and goods and were extensively used for observation and reconnaissance. The Helicopter Guimbal Cabri G2 is usually used for training and recreational purposes. In November 2020, there was an incident involving Cabri G2 in Malaysia. In fact there were several incidents around the world involving this type of helicopter and this paper delineated those incidents and analyses were performed to gain useful insights with regards to those incidents. This paper however did not cover 8 incidents (including the one in Malaysia) as they were still under investigation by respective authorities.

Several aircraft types are commonly used to perform many search and rescue missions throughout the world. Aircraft have been used because they are able to offer a bird’s eye view of the surrounding search areas. In general, these aircraft come in various shapes, sizes and weights, and have myriad capabilities in carrying rescued and/or injured personnel and also equipment for the search and medical operations during the search and rescue sorties. For an aircraft, takeoff gross weight is important because it will affect the flying performance of the aircraft. To perform an effective search and rescue mission, the right selection of aircraft is essential such that unnecessary resources are not being wasted. In soccer it’s imperative for players to create passing lanes which allow the ball to be passed from one player to another. This progressed the team towards the goal line and consequently scoring a goal. Positioning players at several zones in the pitch or field would create several channels for the ball to be passed. However, this also creates threats even though opportunities do ingrainedly exist. In this paper, we observed these passing lanes via tabulation of threats and opportunities.

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) had acquired a static flight simulator of type Boeing 737 NG. Before the arrival of the simulator, a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) was actuated in order to confirm the simulator would arrive according to the specifications and also within the correct conditions. FAT was also actuated to gauge the functionality of the components of the simulator and to confirm that it would be delivered according to the timeline. The engines were positioned horizontally in a contraption to allow measurements to be taken. The breadth of variations from the designated thrusts indicated from the manufacturer were recorded, discussed, and concluded.

Search and Rescue (SAR) is a process of searching for individuals and rescuing those that are in danger. In Malaysia, several agencies are involved in SAR. One of them is the Malaysian Police Air Wing. We had posed several SAR issues to the crew of SAR of the Malaysian Police Air Wing and we had given them leverage whether to agree, disagree, or remain neutral pursuant to these issues. The results were analyzed and a majority of the crew agreed that SAR had save lives while other issues showed mixed responses.

The Malaysian Police Air Wing has a Search and Rescue Unit that actuates Search and Rescue using aircraft and aviation related equipment. The personnel involved are trained professionals with vast experiences. This paper investigated the factors that contributed to the success of Search and Rescue Missions in lieu with aircraft, equipment, experiences, and management. The results were mixed and several initiatives were proposed to mitigate existing predicaments.

In aviation maintenance, workers usually work in tight spaces to maintain or repair aircraft. These constricted spaces provide uncomfortable feeling to these workers and in return the workmanship of the workers declined in terms of quality and thus affect the safety of the aircraft. However, some workers are fit enough to go through these conditions without hassle or without much pain. This paper focused upon female aviation workers and collected data on their rate of perceived exertion pertaining to two selected aviation workspaces. The data and analyses showed that those who are fit felt less exertion while those who are not fit felt more exertion. This paper then recommended several physical exercises to increase their fitness and in turn reduce the exertion felt.

As a student in Aviation, particularly in the field of Avionics, one has to actuate real life practical in real life aircraft. In the field of Avionics, the electrical and electronic racks are usually located in confined and constricted spaces in the cargo bay of the aircraft. To actuate works upon these spaces requires the student to crawl and be in physically stressful position for a predetermined period. If the student could not withstand these situations, then their practical workmanship would be poor. Thus, potential student in Avionics should be fit in order to perform well during these practical sessions. This paper collected the Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) of high school students that aspire to be Avionics students after graduating from high school. The RPE showed whether these students could withstand or not the practical in Avionics and the results showed that high school students that are fit felt less exertion, thus more likely to perform well in their practical.
