Summer holidays present an infinitely long period of free time for young children, while, during the same holidays, their teachers perceive that the time flies. Is it an impression or fact? I suppose that it could be like this: just imagine that human thoughts are tangible. A young child has fewer of them, either conscious or unconscious ones, than an adult or elderly person. As people get older, the already mentioned thoughts or memories, experiences, findings, etc. accumulate and remain in their memory, in their brains, in some form. According to Einstein's 'General Theory of Relativity', curvature of space and time dilation occur near the tangible objects, and all the more so as the object is more massive.

Jak člověk asi vnímá čas (něco jako taková myšlenková hříčka) Pro malé děti jsou letní prázdniny nekonečně dlouhou dobou volna, naproti tomu jejich učitelům se zdá, že jim ty samé prázdniny utečou jako voda. Je to zdání anebo je to fakt? Já se domnívám, že by to mohlo být takto:

Wie wohl der Mensch die Zeit wahrnimmt (so etwas wie ein Gedankenspiel) Für kleine Kinder sind die Sommerferien unendlich lang, ihren Lehrern aber scheint es, als wären diese sehr schnell vorbei. Kommt einem dies nur so vor oder ist das wirklich so? Ich nehme an, es könnte so sein: man braucht sich nur vorzustellen, dass die menschlichen Gedanken materiell sind.

Vítek s Máťou, Pavlem a Martinem seděli na docela obyčejných dřevěných židlích u docela obyčejného stolu, mezi vzrostlými, vysokými stromy, mezi jejichž listy v korunách zářily hvězdy a někde za obzorem měsíc, ale ten teď nebyl nikde vidět, takže tento večer nebo lépe řečeno začínající noc byla úplně jasná. A taky byla teplá, jak se na správné léto sluší a patří. Odněkud sem zaléhalo naléhavé a téměř nepřetržité cvrčkovo vábení sa-mičky.
    „Teď je tady fakt pěkně,“ povídá Máťa, „co asi dělá ta moje Jitunka?“
    „Co by dělala, přišla z práce, tak asi odpočívá,“ řekl Pavel a na kytaře zahrál akord G.
    Vítek se obrátil na Máťu a chtěl mu něco říct, ale uviděl, jak ten má sklopenou hlavu a něco soustředěně kutí pod deskou stolu. Bylo mu hned jasné, že na svém telefonu píše zprávu svojí Jitunce.

    “What would she do? She has just come from work and is having rest now,” said Pavel and played a G chord on the guitar.
    Vítek turned to Máťa and wanted to tell him something, but he saw him having his head down, tinkering with something under the desk of the table. It was immediately clear to him that he was writing a message to his dearest Jitka on his mobile.

Jeden z nejúchvatnějších a nejskvostnějších pohledů člověka, je jeho pohled do vesmíru. Do těch nekonečných prostor s myriádami hvězd, mihotajících se, stálých, žlutavých, namodralých, nehybných. Prostor naplněný velebností, krásou, tichem nebo snad hudbou sfér, ohromujícím počtem galaxií, neustálým pohybem a nekonečnem změn. Miliardy párů lidských očí k němu už vzhlížely a stejný počet myslí se chtě nechtě obíralo otázkou: „Co to vlastně všechno je, jakou tady vůbec asi já hraji roli, proč to tak všechno funguje a ladí, co je dál za stěnou tohoto vesmíru, nevím, nerozumím, proč…?“
    A stejný počet lidí se vždy snažilo na tyto otázky najít odpovědi, na otázky, jež si kladl a klade člověk dodnes už po tisíce a milióny let, vždycky je toužili nějak rozřešit, podobně jako se snaží nalézt odpovědi těchto několik následujících vět.

Einer der faszinierendsten und wunderbarsten Blicke des Menschen ist sein Blick in den Kosmos. In diesen unendlichen Raum mit Myriaden von Sternen, die funkeln, fix, gelblich, bläulich und unbeweglich sind. Ein Raum voller Erhabenheit, Schönheit, Stille oder möglicherweise sphärischer Musik, einer atemberaubenden Anzahl an Galaxien, ständiger Bewegung und einer Unendlichkeit an Veränderungen. Milliarden menschlicher Augenpaare haben schon zu ihm aufgeschaut, und dieselbe Anzahl an Sinnen hat sich nolens volens mit der Frage befasst: "Was ist das eigentlich alles, was für eine Rolle spiele ich hier überhaupt, warum funktioniert und stimmt alles so, was liegt hinter der Wand dieses Universums, ich weiß und verstehe nicht warum…?" Und genauso viele Menschen haben versucht, auf diese Fragen eine Antwort zu finden, auf Fragen, die sich der Mensch bis heute seit Hunderten und Millionen von Jahren stellt, immer sehnte man sich danach, diese zu lösen, so wie man versucht, in diesen wenigen folgenden Sätzen Antworten zu finden.-Warum denken die Menschen über sich, sie seien so außergewöhnlich, einzigartig und toll, warum nehmen sie an, sie allein seien die einzigen denkenden Wesen im gesamten Universum? Sind das nicht nur Hochmut, Einbildung und Geringschätzigkeit, die ihnen die Sinne vernebelt haben? Und was sind eigentlich Denken, Vernunft, Fühlen, Aussehen, Gewissen, Phantasie oder Wissen? Wer gibt uns darauf eine Antwort? Jemand anderes als der Mensch? Wohl kaum! Über Jahrhunderte und Jahrtausende haben Philosophen, Priester und heute auch viele Forscher den Menschen in dieser seiner unlogischen Aufgeblasenheit und Selbstverliebtheit bestärkt. Doch so hielten sie ihn auch in seinem Gefühl der Einsamkeit, des Alleinseins und jener vermeintlichen Einzigartigkeit, so wie dieses Gefühl jeder hat, der die Macht fest in den Händen hält und alles beherrscht, was um ihn herum ist, auch andere Menschen oder der manchmal nur annimmt, er herrsche und halte eine solche Macht in seinen Händen. Wie absurd ist dies-er erobert den Weltraum, beherrscht die Natur, setzt sich an die Stelle ihres Beherrschers, so als sei er selbst etwas Anderes, etwas Besonderes als der Rest. Hält er jedoch zumindest für einen Moment inne, stellt er fest, dass alles auf der Erde aus ein und denselben Atomen von Elementen gemacht ist, aus ein und demselben Stoff, also wie er oder vielmehr, dass auch er aus demselben Stoff gemacht ist wie alles andere, einem Stoff, der bei Explosionen von Supernovae entsteht, was faszinierend ist und dabei kein Geheimnis, im Gegenteil. Die Spannung, die darin durch dieses Gefühl der Vereinsamung entsteht, widerspiegelt sich sowohl in seinem eigenen Leben als auch in seiner Beziehung zur Existenz alles anderen. Statt zu versuchen, den Kosmos beziehungsweise die gesamte Natur zu erkennen, erobert er sie oder versucht, wie schon gesagt wurde, diese zu beherrschen. Statt zu versuchen zu verstehen, wo sein Platz in diesem gesamten System ist, in einem solchen, wie er es eigentlich selbst festgelegt hat, wie er es beschrieben und bestimmt hat und wie er es sich erklärt. Aber nein! Die Menschen haben mehrere Institute gegründet,

One of the most fascinating and magnificent insights of a man is his insight into the Universe. Into the endless space with myriads of stars twinkling, stable, yellowish, bluish and motionless. The space filled with the majesty, beauty, silence, or perhaps the music of the spheres, the impressive number of galaxies, constant motion and infinity of changes. The billions of pairs of human eyes have already looked up into the Universe and the same number of minds willy-nilly have asked the question: “What is it really all about? What’s my role here? Why does it all work and fit together? What is beyond the wall of this Universe? I don’t know, I don’t understand, why…?”
    And the same number of people have always tried to find answers to the questions, which a man has always asked for thousands and millions of years up till now. He always wanted to sort it out somehow. Likewise the few following sentences have been trying to find the answers.

Zkusme alespoň na chvíli, opustit ony myšlenky, které jsou jaksi všeobecně platné a totiž, že člověk je pánem všeho tvorstva, vládcem všehomíra, který neustále s něčím bojuje proto, aby nad tím či oním zvítězil a tím si dokázal svoji výjimečnost. S přírodou, s počasím, s vesmírem, který také dobývá. Nestačí mu, nad co všechno se vyvyšuje, že se tohoto celku, kterého je naprostou integrální součástí, vyděluje, snaží se od něj oddělit. Ještě se některé určité skupiny lidí, ať už náboženské či sociální, vyvyšují nad jiné, ty zase nad ty a přitom všichni mají tu možnost, použít svůj rozum a prozkoumat a poznávat sami sebe, snažit se o to, sama sebe pochopit - Gnóthi seauton, jak prý stálo nad vchodem do starověkých Delf.

Versuchen wir doch zumindest für einen Moment, uns von jenen Gedanken frei zu machen, die irgendwie allgemein gültig sind, und zwar, dass der Mensch der Herr der Schöpfung ist, der Herrscher des Alls, der ständig gegen etwas kämpft, um dieses Etwas zu besiegen und sich so selbst seine Außergewöhnlichkeit zu beweisen. Er kämpft mit der Natur, mit dem Wetter, mit dem Universum, das er auch zu erobern versucht. Es reicht ihm nicht, worüber er sich erhebt, dass er sich von diesem Ganzen, dessen integraler Bestandteil er ist, abhebt, versucht, sich von ihm zu lösen. Gewisse Gruppen von Menschen, seien es religiöse oder soziale, erheben sich über andere, diese wieder über jene, wiederum über diese, und dabei haben doch alle die Möglichkeit, ihren Verstand einzusetzen und sich selbst zu erforschen und kennenzulernen, zu versuchen, sich selbst zu verstehen - Gnóthi Seauton, wie es über dem Eingang zum altertümlichen Delphi gestanden haben soll.

Let us try, if only for a moment, to abandon those thoughts which seem to apply everywhere, such as the thouíght that man is the master of all creation, the commander of all the universe, that he is in continual combat with something or other so that he can achieve victory over it and thus display what an exceptional being he is.  Combat with nature, combat with the weather, combat with the universe which he will also conquer.  It is not enough for him to raise himself above all else, not enough to distance himself from the entirety of things of which he is an integral part, he strives to detach himself from it.    There are still certain groups qq of people, be they religious or social, they rise above others, those over you, and all of them have the opportunity to use their intellect to explore and to know themselves, to try to understand themselves - Gnóthi seauton, as it was said over the entrance to the ancient Delphi.
