Wind energy is a vital energy free from pollution and freely available energy in our world. The purpose of this research is performance investigation of small horizontal axis wind turbine installed at the top of a pickup vehicle and the power generated from this wind turbine is used to charge the batteries of the vehicle. Permanent magnet generator is selected for the experiment as well as the selected type of the blade is NACA 4412 and its angle of attack is 6°. The angle of attack is determined by using Qblade software at the maximum lift to drag ratio of NACA 4412 airfoil. The blades of wind turbine are fabricated from wood because wood have excellent fatigue properties. The comparison between analytical analysis and experimental test is done based on the reaction wind speed, in order to achieve good matching between analytical analysis and experimental test. Finally, the power output from the wind turbine is used for charging the vehicle battery and the charging process is contr...

Background: Neonatal mortality is a significant contributor to under-five mortality in low-income countries like Ethiopia, carrying  neonatal mortality of 30 per 1000 live births. Preterm newborns with respiratory distress can be effectively managed with a Continuous  Positive Airway pressure machine. It is recommended as an essential lifesaving intervention by the World Health Organization. The study  aimed to assess barriers to the optimal use of continuous positive airway pressure machines in preterm babies by Pediatrics residents at  a tertiary referral hospital. Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was carried out among pediatric residents at Tikur Anbessa  Specialized Hospital from September to October 2021. The data were collected through a self-administered structured questionnaire and  analyzed using SPSS version 25. A Pvalue <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: One hundred twelve pediatrics residents  were included; 41(36.6%) were females ...

Hepatic subcapsular hematoma is an extremely rare clinical condition in the neonatal period. Being a life-threatening emergency, it requires prompt diagnosis and management. In a newborn presented with severe anemia, hypovolemic shock, and abdominal distention with hemoperitoneum without any identifiable risk factors hepatic subcapsular hematoma should be considered. Newborns may develop catastrophic acute and long-term complications if the diagnosis is not made timely. Obstetricians, pediatricians, neonatologists and pediatric surgeons should have a high of the index of suspicion of hepatic subcapsular hematoma in newborns to avoid delay in the diagnosis and to reduce neonatal morbidity and mortality. Here, we report a 20 hour’s old male term newborn diagnosed with Hepatic Subcapsular Hematoma after he presented with progressive abdominal distension and severe anemia. Abdominal ultra-sound showed a well-defined round heterogenic echogenic liver mass and massive intra-peritoneal flu...

Childhood adrenocortical carcinoma is an extremely rare cancer with a poor prognosis. It usually presents during the first 5 years of life with a median age of 3–4 years, although there is a second smaller peak during the adolescence period. Here, we report a 4 – years-old female child diagnosed with childhood adrenocortical carcinoma with distant metastasis after she presented with features of Cushing syndrome and recent worsening of abdominal swelling of a month duration. Chest and abdomen CT scan showed a left adrenal mass with liver and lung metastasis. Serum ACTH was low and serum cortisol was high. Biopsy from the liver showed secondary deposits with malignant carcinoma. She started treatment with chemotherapy with EDP regimenwith palliative intent. Despite chemotherapy she had progression of disease with systemic multiorgan involvement.
