This study investigates the impact of global infection rates on social media posts during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study analysed over 179 million tweets posted between March 22 and April 13, 2020 and the global COVID-19 infection rates using evolutionary clustering analysis. Results showed six clusters constructed for each term type, including three-level n-grams (unigrams, bigrams and trigrams). The frequent occurrences of unigrams (\COVID-19", \virus", \government", \people", etc.), bigrams (\COVID 19", \COVID-19 cases", \times share", etc.) and trigrams (\COVID 19 crisis", \things help stop" and \trying times share") were identi¯ed. The results demonstrated that the unigram trends on Twitter were up to about two times and 54 times more common than the bigram terms and trigram terms, respectively. Unigrams like \home" or \need" also became important as these terms re°ected the main concerns of people during this period. Taken together, the present¯ndings con¯rm that many tweets were used to broadcast people's prevalent topics of interest during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the results indicate that the number of COVID-19 infections had a signi¯cant e®ect on all clusters, being strong on 86% of clusters and moderate on 16% of clusters. The downward slope in global infection rates re°ected the start of the trending of \social distancing" and \stay at home". These¯ndings suggest that infection rates have had a signi¯cant impact on social media posting during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This study presents a cross-cultural analysis of the influence of psychological needs and cultural individualism on problematic Internet use. The Individualism-Collectivism Scale, New Needs Assessment Questionnaire, and Internet Addiction Scale were used to collect data from American and Turkish college students. A structural equation modeling based multi-group analysis was employed to test the research model and hypothesized relationships. The results showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between psychological needs of achievement and problematic Internet use in both groups. Whereas there was a positively significant relationship between vertical individualism and problematic Internet use in both groups, that relationship was stronger in the U.S. sample. The findings indicated that cultural background has a significant influence on problematic Internet use and the risk of problematic Internet use is higher in the individualist societies.

Public awareness is crucial in the prevention and management of the pandemic outbreaks. Accordingly, this study aimed to develop a scale that measures individuals' awareness on pandemic outbreaks. The study investigated psychometric properties of the Pandemic Awareness Scale (PAS) in a Turkish sample (n = 1303) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The exploratory-factor-analysis (EFA) results (n = 903) indicated a high internal consistency reliability (α = .89) and suggested one-factor structure. The factor structure was confirmed in a different sample (n = 400) by a confirmatory-factor-analysis (CFA). The CFA results indicated that the one-factor model fits the data well (x 2 /df = 3.79, GFI = .96, IFI = .97, TLI = .94, CFI = .97, RMSEA = .084). The results suggested that the PAS is a valid and reliable tool to measure Turkish individuals' pandemic awareness level.

This study investigated the mediating role of cultural intelligence in the relationship between social justice and global citizenship. A research model was developed and tested by employing a structural equation modelling (SEM) approach based on data collected from 441 prospective teachers. The results indicated that social justice has a significant direct effect on cultural intelligence, which has a significant direct effect on global citizenship. However, the results indicated that social justice does not have a significant direct effect on global citizenship, whereas social justice has a significant indirect effect on global citizenship through cultural intelligence. The implications of the findings for practice and research were discussed.

This study aimed to predict the culturally responsive teacher roles based on cultural intelligence and self-efficacy using machine learning classification algorithms. The research group consists of 415 teachers from different branches. The Bayes classifier (NaiveBayes), logistic-regression (SMO), lazy-classifier (KStar), meta-classifier (LogitBoost), rule-learner (JRip), and decision-tree (J48) were employed in the assessment of the predictive model. The results indicated that JRip rule-learner had a better performance than other classifiers in predicting the culturally responsive teachers based on six attributes used in the study. The JRip rule-learner classified the culturally responsive teachers as low, medium, or high with an accuracy of 99.76% (CCI: 414/415

Smartphone addiction (SA) can cause behavioral difficulties in learning and concentration, relationships with others, and clinical activities among nursing students. The main goal of the study was to adapt and validate Persian version of the Smartphone Addiction Inventory (SPAI-PV) in a sample of nursing students. SPAI translated into Persian by employing a forward-backward translation method and content validity were established. The sample of the study was 281 nursing students. They responded to both SPAI-PV and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9). The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach's alpha were employed to ensure validity and reliability of the SPAI-PV. The results showed that the content validity index (CVI) and content validity ratio (CVR) were 0.91 and 0.76, respectively. The CFA results validated the four-factor structure of the SPAI-PV. The results indicated that the data fit the measurement model well. Cronbach's alpha values indicated that the scale was internally consistent. Persian version of the scale (SPAI-PV) is a reliable and valid measure for measuring, predicting, and explaining the smartphone addiction among nursing students in Iran.

The study investigated the moderating role of exhibitionism in the relationship between psychological needs (i.e., autonomy, competence, and relatedness) and selfie-posting behavior. The study proposed a research model by extending the "self-determination theory" with exhibitionism to better explain selfie-posting behavior. Structural equation modeling (SEM) approach was employed to test the proposed model based on data obtained from 316 social media users in New Delhi, India. Results indicated that psychological needs for relatedness, competence, and autonomy significantly predict selfie-posting behavior. Further, results of the multi-group analysis indicated that level of exhibitionism plays a moderating role in the relationship between psychological needs and selfie-posting behavior. The findings suggested that individuals with a higher level of exhibitionism more tend to post selfies on social media to satisfy their needs for competence and relatedness.

The aim of the present study is to investigate the impact of cultural collectivism on knowledge sharing among information technology majoring undergraduates in Turkey. The study proposes a research model based on the theory of reasoned action (TRA). A structural equation model was used to test the research model against the data collected by means of a self-report questionnaire. Results show that cultural collectivism has a positive and significant impact on attitudes toward and subjective norms with regard to knowledge sharing. Confirming the TRA, results also suggest that behavioral intentions are jointly determined by attitudes and subjective norms. Implications of these findings are discussed.

This study aims at contributing to literature by investigating the role of espoused culture in influencing nomophobia. In the present study, the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q) and Individualism-Collectivism (INDCOL) Scale were used to measure nomophobia and horizontal/vertical collectivism. The psychometric properties of the scales were examined against the data collected from 485 undergraduate students in Turkey (Mean age ¼ 22.11, SD ¼ 3.84). A structural equation modeling approach was used to test the hypothesized relationships. Results suggested that the relationship between vertical collectivism and nomophobia was significant and positive (.31), while the relationship between horizontal collectivism and nomophobia was not significant (and negative;-.15). The points raised in the present study should be taken into account when designing treatment and prevention programs in dealing with nomophobia.

A B S T R A C T This study contributes to the cyberpsychology literature by investigating the moderating effect of gender in the relationship between narcissism and selfie posting behavior. A demographic questionnaire, 13-item selfie-posting scale developed and validated in the present study, and Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI-16) were used to collect data. An EFA was conducted to test the factor structure of scales based on data collected from 179 young adults (age 18–27 years). A CFA was then conducted using data from 269 university students (age 18–32 years) to test construct validity of the scales. A correlation analysis was employed to test the correlations between narcissism and selfie posting behavior. The results indicated that the correlations between attitudes, intentions, behaviors, and narcissism are significant for men, but not for women. The results also indicated gender differences in online behavior with women spending more time on social media and selfie-posting.

Wearable technologies are becomingmore pervasive with the development
of high computational capability devices such as smartwatches, smart
glasses, smart pills, and sensors. The emergence of these technologies may
offer unique opportunities for both students and academics by allowing
ubiquitous communication. Accordingly, the current study develops a
theoretical model based on the technology acceptance model (TAM), the
theory of planned behavior (TPB), and the most effective features of
smartwatches, including availability, mobility, trust, and enjoyment. The
proposed model was validated by employing a partial least squaresstructural
equation modeling approach based on data collected from 572
students. The results suggested that mobility has a significant relationship
with perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of smartwatches. The
results also suggested that perceived enjoyment was significantly
associated with the perceived usefulness. Further, availability and trust
were significantly related to the perceived ease of use. The implications of
these findings for research and practice were also discussed.

People started posting textual tweets on Twitter as soon as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged. Analyzing these tweets can assist institutions in better decision-making and prioritizing their tasks. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze 43 million tweets collected between March 22 and March 30, 2020 and describe the trend of public attention given to the topics related to the COVID-19 epidemic using evolutionary clustering analysis. The results indicated that unigram terms were trended more frequently than bigram and trigram terms. A large number of tweets about the COVID-19 were disseminated and received widespread public attention during the epidemic. The high-frequency words such as "death", "test", "spread", and "lockdown" suggest that people fear of being infected, and those who got infection are afraid of death. The results also showed that people agreed to stay at home due to the fear of the spread, and they were calling for social distancing since they become aware of the COVID-19. It can be suggested that social media posts may affect human psychology and behavior. These results may help governments and health organizations to better understand the psychology of the public, and thereby, better communicate with them to prevent and manage the panic.

This study investigated the relationships between early maladaptive schemas (EMSs) and smartphone addiction. The study further investigated the moderating role of mindfulness in the relationship between EMSs and smartphone addiction. The study employed a SEM-based multi-group analysis using data collected from 660 mobile users in Turkey. Results indicated that none of the EMSs were significantly associated with smartphone addiction for average users. On the other hand, certain EMSs were significantly associated with smartphone addiction for intermittent and addicted users. The schemas of social isolation/mistrust, approval seeking, and abandonment were positively associated with smartphone addiction for intermittent users, whereas approval seeking and entitlement/insufficient self-control were positively associated with smartphone addiction for addicted users. The findings implied that those who have higher score on the EMSs were more likely to become addicted to smartphones. The results further indicated that mindfulness significantly moderated these relationships, suggesting that as mindfulness increases, the number of schemas related to smartphone addiction decreases.

A B S T R A C T Individualism versus collectivism as an aspect of culture and extraversion as an aspect of personality may help explain self-presentation attitudes, intentions, and behaviors on social networking sites. Thus, this study aims to investigate the individual differences and relationships among individualism versus collectivism, extraversion, and self-presentation attitudes, intentions, and behaviors. The Individualism-Collectivism Scale and the Big Five Personality Scale were used to collect the data from 311 college students (75.9% woman, mean age = 20.68). Results show that individualism has a significant positive correlation with extraversion, which has a significant correlation with selfie posting attitudes, intentions and behaviors. Even though the correlation between individualism and attitudes toward self-presentation was statistically significant, the magnitude of the association was small.

This study aimed to investigate the impact of individual differences in mindfulness on nomophobia. We developed and validated two structural models to identify the relationship between mindfulness and nomo-phobia. The 'Nomophobia Questionnaire' and the 'Mindful Attention Awareness Scale' were used to obtain data from the subjects. One-way MANOVA results suggested a statistically significant difference in nomopho-bia based on higher versus lower mindfulness. Further, a multi-group analysis was conducted to test the hypothesized relationships in the structural models for men and women. The results revealed that mindfulness had a significant negative correlation with nomophobia for both men and women. As scores in mindfulness increased, subjects exhibited less nomophobic tendencies. Further, those subjects who had lower scores in mindfulness showed higher anxiety when they were unable to communicate. However, subjects who scored higher in mindfulness showed lower anxiety when they could not access desired information. Independent sample t-test results were variant across men and women in nomophobia. Based on the findings we conclude that mindfulness based treatments can be beneficial in dealing with nomophobia for women.

A B S T R A C T The decision to integrate mobile cloud computing (MCC) in education without determining optimal use scenarios is a universal problem as the adoption of such services becomes widespread. Accordingly, this study developed and validated a predictive model that explains the role of students' information management (i.e. retrieve, store, share, and apply) practices in predicting their attitudes toward using the MCC services for educational purposes. This study validated the model by the complementary use of machine learning algorithms alongside a classical SEM-based approach based on data collected from 308 undergraduate students. The SEM results indicated that the students' information management (i.e. retrieve, store, share, and apply) practices were significantly associated with their attitudes, which were significantly associated with the behavioral intentions. The structural model explained a significant portion of the variance in the behavioral intentions. Likewise, the classifier model suggested that the students' information management practices and attitudes predicted the behavioral intentions. Further, the applied algorithms predicted the behavioral intentions with an accuracy of more than 72% in most cases. Thereby, the study extended an original theory (TRA) into the MCC area by using a multi-analytical approach. The findings implied that employing the MCC services for personal information management should be supported and encouraged in the higher education by designing authentic learning environments and scaffolding the students in using such services.

This study contributed to cyberpsychology literature by identifying moderating role of gender in the relationship between personality traits and smartphone addiction. A multi-group SEM analysis was employed to investigate the relationship between five factor personality traits (i.e. Big Five) and smartphone addiction among men and women. Big-Five-Inventory (BFI) and Smartphone Addiction Inventory (SPAI) were used to collect data from 320 undergraduate students. The results suggested a positively significant relationship between neuroticism (emotional imbalance) and smartphone addiction for women only. Whereas, conscientiousness was negatively related with smartphone addiction for women. Further, there was a negatively significant relationship between agree-ableness and smartphone addiction for both genders. The findings suggested that gender has a moderating role in the relationship between neuroticism and smartphone addiction.

The present study reviewed current trends in the literature on problematic Internet use. The review included a total of 48 studies published within the last two years and covered by the Web of Science and Scopus databases. Despite frequently investigated in the literature, results of the studies suggest that there is still much to be unveiled regarding problematic Internet use and its relation to gender and cultural differences. In terms of gender, although more studies show that men are further vulnerable to problematic Internet use symptoms, results differ regarding the moderator effect(s) or differences in various cultural settings. Recent studies mostly employed quantitative methods; but, it is also noted that problematic Internet use studies increasingly focus on meta-analysis and literature reviews. Research also tends to investigate large-sample cross-cultural groups, but their results are far from achieving consensus. Studies mostly used cross-sectional approaches with self-report instruments and focused on adolescents and young adults who were students.

Organizational adoption of new technologies is a practically important research area. The present study aims to investigate the impact of perceived security on organizational adoption of mobile communication technologies, specifically smartphones. For this purpose, a research model is developed extending the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The research model is tested using a structural equation modeling based on data that were collected from senior managers of 201 private sector organizations in Turkey. The results show that, along with the traditional constructs of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, perceived security significantly affects organizations' adoption of smartphones. Both the theoretical and practical implications of these results are discussed.

The effective management of knowledge is critical to achieve high academic performance, effectiveness, and efficiency. Adoption of cloud computing in education has the potential to enhance the management of knowledge. This study aims to investigate the antecedents and consequences of cloud computing adoption in education to achieve knowledge management. Thereby, this study implemented the cloud computing in an authentic learning environment to support knowledge management practices and provided participants with training and education. Pre-tests and post-tests were administered on the first and last week of the 14-week intervention. This study examined the causal relationship between the expectations for knowledge management practices and the perceived usefulness of cloud computing services. Further, the causal relationships among innovativeness, training and education, and perceived ease of use were examined in the study. Survey data collected from 221 undergraduate students were analyzed by using structural equation modeling to validate the research model. The results indicate that the perceived usefulness is significantly associated with the expectations for knowledge creation and discovery, storage, and sharing. Amongst others, the expectations for knowledge storage and sharing have a stronger relationship with the perceived usefulness. Further, innovativeness and training & education are significantly associated with the ease of use perceptions. The findings suggested that educational institutions may promote adoption of cloud computing in education by increasing the awareness of knowledge management practices.

This study aimed at contributing to the literature by adaptation and validation of the Turkish version of the BSmartphone Addiction Inventory^ (SPAI). The psychometric properties of the inventory were evaluated through the data obtained from 330 undergraduate students. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was employed to validate the inventory. The results confirmed the four dimensional structure with a Cronbach's α value of .93 for the inventory as a whole, thus suggested a good internal consistency. Further, the CFA results suggested that correlations between the four constructs and their 26 items were valid. Thus, it is important to note that Turkish version of the SPAI adapted in this study is a valid and reliable instrument for measuring smartphone addiction in Turkey.
