Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia caused by abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins; and can cause chronic complications such as microvascular, macrovascular and neuropathic. Treatment of DM type 2 in RSUD Sukoharjo use metformin and glibenklamide. The aim of this study was to analyze the treatment cost-effectiveness of hospitalize patients with DM type 2 using Metformin and Glibenklamide. The study was an observational cross-sectional method according to the hospital's perspective using secondary data in January-December 2017 period regarding the treatment of 62 BPJS class-III DM type 2 patients. The data included demographic data, length of stay and total costs. A total of 32 patients class III BPJS use Metformin and 30 patients class III BPJS use glibenklamide.
