Abstract. We sequenced, the 18s rRNA gene,from,I1 nematomorph, species from,9 genera and derived hypotheses, concerning, the sister group,of Nematomorpha, and relationships within this taxon. The molecular, and morphological, data are consistent with the monophyly,of ,,of the two tail lobes at the posterior end of males in Chordodinae, monophyly of the genus Paragordiunus, and paraphyly of the genus Chordodes. Additional key words: Nematoda, Nectonema, Gordiida, phylogeny The horsehair, worms,(Nematomorpha),include

We present a reconstruction of the nervous system of Neodasys chaetonotoideus Remane, 1927 (Gastrotricha, Chaetonotida) based on different microscopical methods: (1) immunohistochemistry (anti-acetylated α- and β-tubulin-, anti-5-HT- and anti-FMRFamide labelling) and (2) histochemistry (labelling of musculature and nuclei) by the means of confocal laser scanning microscopy (cLSM) and (iii) ultrastructure by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). All parts of

The cuticle of Chordodes nobilii Camerano, 1901 is composed of a proximal layer with about 30 sheets of large fibers in alternating orientations and a distal layer, which mainly forms the surface structures, the areoles. The three different types of areoles, simple, tubercle and crowned areoles, are formed mainly by material of strong and medium electron density. The tubercle areoles
