"In the current study, the author aims to continue the detailed analysis of the inherited Latin adjectives used adverbially in Romanian in order to highlight the lexical-semantic and functional features of the word adevăr ‘really’ in the ancient period, when it had different uses. The starting point for the analysis was some previous contributions, in whose pages aspects concerning adjectives with similar morphosyntactic behavior have been described, some of them, at that time, being presented sequentially, revealing the typological characteristics of the class and less the morphological or the phraseological (implicitly prepositional) variation of each lexical unit. The choice of this adverbial adjective as the main topic of the current analysis is also explained by the fact that, in ancient texts, its number of occurrences was relatively significant because it was often found in the structure of adverbial phraseological units. For a proper interpretation, the author uses a corpus of ancient language (SOR Corpus), which facilitates an objective analysis of language facts. It also refers to similar studies and dictionaries of Romance languages to show the similarities between them, more exactly similar uses, confirming the unity of the Neolatin idioms regarding the adverbials. In this paper, the author will prioritise several perspectives: the etymological, the Romance, the morphological, the structural and the syntactic. The main aim is to illustrate the dynamics of this adverb in the ancient language, which was, naturally, much more striking than nowadays. This analysis will undoubtedly make it possible to identify certain constants and relate them to other adverbial adjectives in order to confirm or refute some trends in the language or to seek the fixing of some structures or the generalization of some particular phraseological variants."

In this study, the author aims to develop the analysis begun on the occasion of ICONN 4. The present article is focused on anthroponyms whose origin is different from Romanian, in view of illustrating the multiculturalism of Haţeg. Therefore, a sequential depiction of old Romanian anthroponymy is proposed, to complete the descriptions made over the years for other parts of the Romanian lands. The multiethnic anthroponymic picture remains evocative of one of the most dynamic towns of the olden days, situated at a crossroads. The interpretation of anthroponyms in Haţeg is carried out from various perspectives, but the predominant approach pertains to onomastics. This can be accounted for through the content or the particularities of the Haţeg registry book, which contains a significant number of personal names (first and last names). Due to the publication of the documents outside Romania, in Latin, Hungarian or German, the description of certain anthroponyms is difficult to achieve

The paper provides a state of the art in research on prepositional adverbials in Romance that combine a preposition with an adjective, e.g., Sp. en breve ‘in short’ (= PA-pattern). It therefore reviews the existing bibliography on Romance in general, Latin, Catalan, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, and Spanish. The theoretical background is the hypothesis that the PA-pattern could have played a relevant role as a third way of forming adverbials in the diachrony of Romance, paralleling adverbial adjectives (e.g., breve used as an adverb: hablar breve) and derived adverbs (e.g., brevemente). The review confirms that the PA-pattern is marginal in (written) Latin but rises abruptly in early Romance, suggesting a “hidden” past in spoken Latin. This is corroborated by the fact that similar PA-patterns are used in all Romance languages. However, these insights have often to be deduced from marginal observations on the adverbials in use. As yet, research has not systematically studied...

The aim of this work was to validate the method of decontamination of rice at the temperature of 120°C (determined as optimal in previous experiments). Bacillus cereus was selected as the marker micro-organism for the monitoring of decontamination. The spores of Bacillus cereus are moderately heat resistant. In order to show the efficacy of our decontamination process, we artificially contaminated the rice under study with B. cereus. Decontamination was carried out in a homogenising steriliser about 20 h after contamination. The sample was first heated to 90°C and held at this temperature for 70 minutes. Then the temperature was increased to 120°C and held for 3 hours. Five samples were taken for microbiological analyses as follows: before the experiment, on reaching 120°C, and then after 1, 2, and 3 h of decontamination. Decontamination of rice from vegetative forms and spores of B. cereus present at the level of 400 CFU/ml was effected by heating to 120°C and holding for 1 hour.

The Relationship between Adverbs and the Representative and fundamental Romanian Language Vocabulary In his study, the author intends to present the position occupied by adverbs, within the Romanian fundamental and representative vocabulary framework, as parts of speech that offer, at the utterance level, important information that makes reference, among others, to time, place and space. As often observed, adverbs not only facilitate communication, but also carry a deictic function. To a great extent, this approach is synchronic and uses data offered by two research papers that present a statistical analysis (Al. Graur, 1954 and M. Sala, 1988) of the current Romanian language vocabulary, based on well-determined criteria.

The Syntactic Doubling of Relative-interrogative and Indefinite (Temporal, Modal and Quantitative Adverbials) through Corresponding Alterity Adverbials in Present-day Romanian. This study represents a continuation of a previous study (Chircu 2020b); it discusses the distribution of (temporal, modal and quantitative) alterity adverbials which syntactically double semantically equivalent relative-interrogative and indefinite adverbials. The alterity adverbials strengthen the meaning of the relative-interrogative and indefinite adverbials and offer alternative solutions of fulfilling the action expressed by the verb or, in the case of modal adverbials, of satisfying the constraints of a ternary relation. In the identified contexts, it can be observed that the alterity adverbial is used both anaphorically and cataphorically, depending of the choice of the speakers. For this analysis, the author has extracted data from the present-day language (the CoRoLa corpus and Google).

In this study, the author tries to analyze in detail phrases like la pastele cailor (meaning 'never') or cât ai zice peste (meaning 'very quickly'), which have not been studied intensively in the literature. The phrases will be interpreted both from a structural and a semantic point of view. These phrases usually occur in spoken, informal Romanian. Nevertheless, they sometimes appear in the literary language as well. Adverbial phrases of time are insufficiently examined in Romanian linguistics writings, although they amount to the individuality of Romanian among the Romance languages. Most authors fail to make an in-depth analysis of this category of phrases.
