I liked the game, it feels relaxing going around and capturing the animals, the bgm helps with it. I really liked that at the end you can see the animals since you found the cure so it’s nice
At the end I captured a lot of animals that the game started to lag a bit haha
At the start I would have liked to be able to run but since the environment is relaxing, I forgot about it and only focused on getting the animals
The only thing to fix I saw it’s when you have your shadow realm full and when you go to buy something, the text of the realm being full and the price of the box overlaps, it’s something small
(I was a bit distracted at the start that I missed that I should buy a box to contain the animals so at the start I was a bit lost haha, but it’s a nice touch that at the end of the tutorial, a bunny is in front of you to see how the animals are)
This was such a fun experience. I really enjoyed the premise and music. Some of the critter sounds where a bit harsh on the ears but otherwise this was chill. Not boring with a good progression and qite intuitive. Looking forward to seeing this with better lighting
I love your game! I actually liked that the shadows were a little harder to spot and you had to use sound a lot of the time to guide you towards animals. Half-way through my run i started recognizing the sounds that the animals i needed made and started hunting them down - As a sound person, I love the use of sound here and would like to see that expanded in the future.
The only complaint that i have is that my animals (specially raccoons, those freakin' raccoons) started stacking on top of each other and escaping their pens. I thought i was hallucinating for a few minutes but then i just pointed my flashlight at them for a bit and saw them committing their great escape.
The upgrade system is great, specially the flashlight upgrade that helps with catching animals.
This was such a cute and really fun game. It was incredibly satisfying to finish.
My only minor complaint is that the animal shadows were kinda hard to see sometimes and they hide at the very edges of the map. Maybe having them be a little darker would be helpful. It wasn't a big deal but it would be a nice quality of life change in my opinion.
The game was a lot of fun to play, it was kinda like a really casual real-time Pokemon game but with real animals. I liked having to get animals to produce items to get further upgrades to get bigger animals. It's a very well practiced system that you implemented really well.
The audio on the animals was great, it was easy to pinpoint their locations really well thanks to it. I found it super helpful. The music was fine but it would have been nice to have a little more or a larger variety of sounds, it just sounded like the same few notes being repeated over and over.
The graphics were very basic and low-poly but they communicated their intent well and everything made sense. I especially liked the rocket launch and the reveal at the end that actually let you see all the animals. It was a nice reveal of "Oh wow, they were all fully textured animals the entire time" it was a really nice ending to the game.
It would be cool to see the concept expanded. I'm a sucker for these types of resource management/progressive upgrade type systems. I had a lot of fun and the game was really charming and cute :)
I saved him!
Really enjoyable small little game, well done!
Nice. Loved catching the 'lil critters. Enjoyed having the audio cues to better track them down, and was happy to see their models when I spread the cure. Wish there was a sprint button. When I saw a pig's shadow for the first time I was spooked! This could definitely be used in a horror game, but I'm rather pleased it was used for a wholesome game :)
Haha I've been jumpscared by pigs quite often too. They really just appear sometimes
Literally so freaking cute. It was like playing pokemon, but with some very creative twists. It was very fun, not too difficult, and total length was perfect. Working in 3d is so ambitious, did you make the models yourself?
Yea all models are made by me :)
Intro explanation felt a little fast since the text auto scrolled. Tutorial was helpful. I just struggled realizing the creatures were invisible lol. Fun game :)
Thanks for playing :)
haha, The intro was a bit of a late into the jam addition lol. Could've used some slower text perhaps.
no worries. You still made a great game. My critique on one small thing that threw my adhd brain off doesn’t take that away!
Trying to find invisible creatures was a fun and unique experience. I found a pig early on after tracking down his sound for quite some just to find out i was jumping the gun and should have been looking for a rabbit lol. Good job on the intro explanation too.
Thanks for playing :)
Honestly, being able to go to the big critters right off the bat is probably a level design issue, I've seen more people struggle with finding them rather soon without the upgrade to actually catch them. Will take that into account for next game lol :)
This game was really cute! I liked the concept and that you included a tutorial. Great job doing a 3D game in Godot! <3
Thank you :)
I did launch the rocket with the antidote! next time when i am in a forest and i am thirsty better hope a raccoon shows up so i can juice! :)) Nice game and feel, with tutorial and intro also included!
Hunting down the shadow critters like that is a really cool idea. Had a great time playing.
