Looks good to me, so committed. Just adding comments seems to be the correct solution -- the umfpack etc. entries are referred to in numpy.distutils.system_info (which is a slight WTF in itself), and presumably could appear in some numpy.distutils-using project. |

Follow-up on mailing list thread. The UMFPACK/FFTW sections are confusing, it can give the impression that they are needed for numpy/scipy.
I would also be fine with removing them completely.
