A recent @chronicleofphilanthropy article covers a new study which found that the more DEI strategies nonprofits employed, the more likely employees were to say they planned to stay in their jobs for the next three years.

“Equity work, at the end of the day, is about giving all of your staff what they need to thrive. There are benefits for retention, because when the work is done well, you’re making everyone feel included.”
- Kerrien Suarez, President and CEO of Equity in the Center

Surprised? We aren’t.

Grateful to our partners @buildingmovementproject for conducting this study of 3,000 nonprofit employees. Continuing race equity work is more important than ever! Link to article in bio.

Yes, it's that time again! We're taking our annual organization-wide break from June 19th to July 5th. This pause allows us to observe Juneteenth and prioritize rest and wellness, both of which are essential for our long-term sustainability and effectiveness. We look forward to reconnecting with you in July! 🖤

"By prioritizing rest, we honor our ancestors, nourish our spirits, and sustain ourselves for the long journey ahead. Together, let us create a world where rest is not a luxury but a birthright—a sacred space for healing, transformation, and liberation."
- Natasha A. Harrison, Racial Equity Requires Rest (LinkedIn Article in bio)

We just wrapped up our second ✨ Race Equity Cycle Pulse Check™ Cohort ✨ and are reflecting on the journey with Monica Banks from @socalgrantmaker, who was part of our first cohort.

“It’s also allowed us to identify some focus areas for ourselves and admit that maybe we’re not as far along as we thought we were, and that’s okay.”

Shoutout to Monica for sharing her experience and to Juan Serrano for designing and facilitating the program! 🙌💬

We loved being in community with all our participants this past year 🖤

Learn More About Us

We envision a future where nonprofit and philanthropic organizations are characterized by a Race Equity Culture™, meaning they implement and advance race equity internally while advocating for and centering it in work externally.

To achieve that future, we challenge colleagues to adopt specific tactics on the levels at which racism operates.
