Niutron is a Chinese electric car brand founded by Niu Technologies co-founder Yan Li on December 15, 2021. The mother company is called Huoxingshi Technology and is based in Beijing with its design center located in Shanghai.[1]
History
Niutron was founded by Yan Li, co-founder of electric scooter manufacturer Niu Technologies and former CTO of Chinese technology company Baidu and officially announced on December 15, 2021.[2][3] That day, digital images of the company's first production vehicle, the Niutron NV mid-size electric SUV, were revealed.[4]
In March 2022, Niutron revealed the production version of the NV. It is planned to begin production in Guangzhou in September 2022.[5]
The Niutron production was established by Dorcen Auto and Huoxingshi Technology. Dorcen Auto is responsible for providing the production facilities and automobile production qualifications. As of December 2022, Niutron announced that the firm’s first EV model, Niutron NV could not be delivered fast enough, and a full refund to more than 24,000 consumers would be made within 48 hours.[6]
In June 2023, news of the Niutron NV surfaced, with the vehicle now being sold by Docan as the Docan V07. Docan is the renamed Dorcen brand, with the Chinese name remaining to be Dacheng (大乘).[7]
