Flavonoid Apigenin Inhibits Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammatory Response through Multiple Mechanisms in Macrophages

The clustergram of the major target genes of apigenin in human THP-1-derived macrophages.

Cells were pretreated with apigenin (A, 25 µM) or DMSO for 2 h, and then treated with LPS (100 ng/mL) or vehicle control for 24 h. Total cellular RNA was isolated and reverse transcribed. The mRNA levels of 91 genes involved in an inflammatory immune response were detected using a pre-designed PrimePCR assay following the manufacturer's instructions. The results were analyzed using Bio-Rad CFX manager software. The clustergram of major target genes is shown.
