It was developed by Dr. James Mwita in 2023, who is an expert on peacebuilding approaches to land ownership. The theory argues that intra-ethnic land conflict can occur when there are perceived inequalities in land ownership or access, or when there are changes in land tenure systems that lead to new or different ownership arrangements. The theory also suggests that political instability can contribute to intra-ethnic land conflict. The Intra-ethnic Land Conflict theory is a valuable framework for understanding the causes and consequences of intra-ethnic land conflict. It can be used to analyze specific cases of intra-ethnic land conflict, and it can also be used to develop strategies for preventing and mitigating this type of conflict. Key points of the theory • Land ownership is a key component of ethnic identity. • Disputes over land ownership can therefore be seen as threats to ethnic identity. • Changes in land tenure systems can lead to conflict, especially if these changes are perceived as unfair or unjust. • Political instability can create a climate of uncertainty and insecurity, which can make people more likely to resort to violence to protect their land rights.

The measures saw many organizations and their services halted. The church was one of the institutions that were affected by the pandemic. The church being a pillar of hope could not sit back as the pandemic ravaged the world. The church adopted technology such as online services instead of in-person services to reach out to the worshipers and deliver services to the people. This study seeks to interrogate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the church and its contributions in addressing the cultural divide during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study adopted the Online SurveyMonkey platform due to its increased response rate, real-time access and convenience in investigating online accessible population. A sample size of 40 respondents was selected using the convenience sampling technique. Primary data was obtained using online surveys while secondary data was obtained from online journals. Quantitative data was analyzed using SPSS and presented using frequency tables and cross-tabulation. Qualitative data obtained was scrutinized and then compared with past data from secondary sources. Findings indicated that the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the halting of in-house worship services, a move that ushered in the use of technology in the church services. Amid the pandemic, the church provided relief food to the poor and the needy donated protective kits to the less fortunate and provided shelter to the homeless. The church championed for economic empowerment of the vulnerable and marginalized groups to support their livelihood during the hard times occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a voice of solidarity and support from all leaders of goodwill across the globe in consolidating skills, expertise and synergies required to overcome the disease. The church called for unity of purpose from all the nations to pray, carry out research, observe COVID-19 preventive protocols and protect others irrespective of their gender, race creed and or cultural diversities. The study recommended the Church to work with the government in addressing the following issues during pandemics; technology enhancement, effective information sharing, promoting global unity and solidarity as well as economic empowerment of vulnerable people in the society.

As a consequence of these two brothers who witnessed the early expansion of revitalization against great opposition, the Methodism and Evangelical Revival developed in 1781-1791 and Methodism became a separate denomination. The profundity of the theological aspect of the mystery of Wesley's doctrinal and Mission-logical way of thought has never been completely recognized. A basic assumption here is that profound God personal experiences and formative theological perspectives constantly coexist and shape one another. Wesley recognized and comprehended this. He did not seek an experience of God without a substantive theological framework, nor did he fancy a simpler theological framework that was separate or separable from the aspect of experiencing God. He sought a religious context that conveyed this feeling and developed it. Online Survey method was used in the study to determine the significance of Wesleyan theology in modern African Methodism, the research aimed at theological experts and leaders from diverse African Methodist congregations, the convenience sampling approach was used in the study to choose a sample of 10 respondents from the intended population, the primary data was gathered using online questionnaires, which collected both qualitative and quantitative information from respondents. Secondary data on Wesleyan theology was obtained through the study's use of online publications and books, the material gathered served as the conceptual foundation for the significance of Wesleyan theology in modern African Methodism, which validated the findings. The study found startling developments in modern Methodist theology in the rethinking of John Wesley theology, by leading Methodist and Wesleyan theologians, who found his work to be educative, challenging and encouraging in their examination on theology. Such a comprehensive and intentional discussion by Wesleyan theologians is uncommon in this century, and far rarer in the previous century than is widely assumed. This study tries to incorporate the Wesleyan theology in unifying Methodism in Africa, as well as to examine and resolve many difficulties confronting Methodism in Africa, and to evoke it in awakening spirituality in contemporary African Methodism.

This paper was guided by both the research objective and question. Objective was to explore anxiety caused by the apparently contradicting perspectives; to present the various perspectives as taught by John Calvin and Jürgen Moltmann as a problem to the diversified doctrinal understanding and to provide a dynamic balance between the two major perspectives for a harmonious understanding. The paper answered question that; what was the anxiety caused by contradictory doctrinal perspectives? The research found out that Moltmann's theology of universal salvation was the position in which the nature of eschatology was built on. This being the process at which he referred to as the onset, the kingdom of God was setting in and the point at which the eternal life begins. Based on such argument, preaching the gospel of universal salvation could easily be criticized for encouraging antinomianism and don not care the common denominator as a sure believe in the way of salvation. This way would help embrace double predestination towards antinomianism. Therefore, there was a need to hold them at tension by using the principle of dynamic balance in which eventual redemption is grounded in the work of Christ at the Cross. In the dynamic balance, Christ the creator of the universe is the savior of the same universe. In eternity, those who will respond to the gospel are called the elect and those who will reject are called reprobates. The finding of this research came up with the following recommendations to mitigate the state of anxiety and possible antinomianism among the Christians in the 21 st century; a common ground that all scriptures are inspired and true, with understanding that all doctrines that seem to contradict one another causing tension to Christians can be subjected to a principle of dynamic balance. This study treats the dynamic balance as a principle in resolving eschatological anxiety among Christians in the 21st century. Again, to prevent hermeneutical suicidal, there should be a way of striking a balance when doctrinal debates emerges in theological studies which is the aim of this research work.

The findings will be attached to the existing prejudices according to which Islam leads to authoritarian attitudes. Moreover, we illustrate the crucial roles of satisfaction with democracy and confidence in the Church in shaping democratic attitudes across the African continent and her religiosity.

The paradox is that, conflict occurs in places that are known to be Christian stronghold. True Christians are expected to be Christ like in their way of life. They are supposed to be gentle, loving, kind, understanding, patient, generous and not self-centered, being mindful of others and peace makers just to mention but a few. The target population of this research was all the Christians of Kipchimchim Parish with a population of 2,106 people. Stratified random sampling was used because of its accuracy in representing the population. A sample of 200 respondents was selected for data collection through questionnaire, and 12 respondents by interview, one leader from every center, which made the total of nine leaders, then the Parish Priest, the local superior of the sisters and the representative of the catechists. All these 12 respondents were interviewed personally. The sample of at least 200 respondents in this research is approximately 10% of the total population. The study identifies election disputes and land disputes as the major cause of ethnic conflicts within the jurisdiction of Kipchimchim parish. Other causes of ethnic conflicts were cattle rustling, political profiling and the killing of the area Member of Parliament. The study recommends that individuals, communities, NGO's, FBOs, CBOs, National and County governments should come together and end this menace. Effective legal frameworks need also to be implemented without involving corruption in various mainstreams.

As such, the Church in general and in particular the MCK has divine role to cognize and makes use of her call to the mission of reconciliation in fostering unity among the people in the current society. However, one wonders if the Methodist church in Kenya has played any role in mitigating ethnic land conflict among the Ameru people of Kenya. This study, investigate the causes of ethnic land conflict in Meru County, Kenya, the role played by MCK and if the church has any known strategy in place to deal with ethnically land-related conflict. Third, to assess the role of indigenous institution Njuri Ncheke of Meru and Methods used to resolve the land conflict. The study was funneled by two theoretical perspectives, ethnic conflict theory and reconciliation theory of Atonement. The study was guided by research question, what causes ethnic land conflict and what should be the role of the church in mitigating ethnic land conflict among the Ameru people of Meru County, Kenya? The other sub-research questions are; what are the perception and causes of ethnic land conflicts among the Ameru people? Does the Methodist Church have any strategy for resolving ethnic land conflict? What has been the role of indigenous institutions the Njuri Ncheke of Meru in dealing with land disputes? The study established that the causes of ethnic land conflict are political influence, disputed on land boundaries / historical land grievances, land titling, and adjudication. The study’s findings are: MCK has not played any role, Njuri Ncheke is a trusted and has methods like; oathing, dialogue and instilling of discipline. It seeks to establish the influence of church land disputes’ reconciliation on mitigating intra-ethnic land conflict in the Meru region; to assess the influence of church dialogue on mitigating intra-ethnic land conflict in the Meru region; to determine the role of the church leadership in mitigating intra-ethnic land conflicts in the region; and to examine the role of the church in awareness creation on mitigating intra-ethnic land conflicts. The study adopted a cross-section research design because it is generally effective in investigating a portion of the entire population within a limited period. A sample size of 251 was selected using a systematic random sampling method. Interview schedules and questionnaires were used to collect both the qualitative and quantitative data. The psycho-cultural conflict theory and economic church theory formed the basis of the study since they incorporated identity groups and individuals as the units of analysis. Synod Bishops and church leaders formed the sample size of the study. The study found out that there is intra-ethnic land conflict among the Ameru community caused by political influence, boundary disputes, autochthony, identity, land ownership and territorial rights. The study indicated that that MCK has not been fully involved in the processes of peace building, reconciliation and mitigation of intra-ethnic land conflicts in the Meru region. Although MCK participate in provision of food stuff and clothing to the people affected by intra-ethnic land conflicts, it does not seem to have adequate approaches for mitigation. The study recommends that the MCK should take up her role in addressing matters related to intra-ethnic land conflicts in the society in order to create the awareness of negative effects of conflicts. The church should develop effective and implementable strategies to mitigate intra-ethnic conflicts. The church leaders should be in the forefront of peace building and reconciliation that will help bring peace and harmony among the conflicting members of the society. The study suggests that further investigation is conducted in the use of complementary approaches by the religious organizations and the African indigenous peace building strategies to deal with intra-ethnic land conflicts. An extensive study can also be carried out on the effectiveness of legal frameworks in resolving ethnic land conflicts in Kenya. Theorizing and understanding such a relationship is essential for a better tomorrow towards peaceful coexistence.
This approach aims to assess the causal forces of democratic attitudes in Africa in the light of broader country-level factors and individual proclivities towards religion and politics. The findings will be attached to the existing prejudices according to which Islam leads to authoritarian attitudes. Moreover, we illustrate the crucial roles of satisfaction with democracy and confidence in the Church in shaping democratic attitudes across the African continent and her religiosity.

The study aims to investigate the role of religion in shaping attitudes and behaviors towards the environment and its impact on development. The research will focus on two main objectives: to identify the role of religion in shaping attitudes and behaviors towards environmental conservation and to examine the impact of religion on development outcomes related to the environment.
The study will be guided by the following research questions: How do religious beliefs and practices influence attitudes towards the environment? How does religion shape environmental behaviors and practices in the community? What role does religion play in promoting sustainable development outcomes related to the environment?
The study's significance lies in its contribution to the understanding of the intersection between religion, environment, and development, especially in the African context. The findings will provide insights into the potential of religious actors in promoting environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The study's expected outcomes include the identification of religious beliefs and practices that promote or hinder environmental conservation, an understanding of the role of religion in shaping environmental behaviors, and insights into the potential of religious actors in promoting sustainable development outcomes related to the environment. Therefore this proposed research study seeks to contribute to the growing body of knowledge on the relationship between religion, environment, and development. The study's findings will provide valuable insights for policymakers, religious leaders, and development practitioners seeking to promote sustainable development outcomes in the context of environmental conservation.
